I asked the city for recycling bins the other day, I recieved them today... but only one!?
Answer:
well if one is not enough you could always use a rubbermaid container.Usually a city/town can not provide more then one recycling bin unless you offer to pay for it because of low funds.
If you are wondering what goes in the bin....
Here is some recyclable items
Mixed Paper and Cardboard
Food and Beverage Containers (cans and bottles only
Laser Toner Cartridges and Ink Jet Cartridges
Computer Boxes and Packing Materials
Batteries
You put paper, plastic, glass in there and set it out on the day the recycling man comes. Good luck. Call the courthouse for more info
Call the city clerk's office and find out how many are allocated per address...
1. Generate less material, you don't need two bins
2. If your city has a website they probably have their recycling bylaws, including recyclable material, posted there; but it will be confusing as he77. Ask them if there is a booklet to explain what and how to recycle.
3. If they don't have any material, call the waste management company that serves your city and ask them.
You are absolutely right:
Public education is such an important part of recycling, yet the vast majority of cities do a p*ss poor job of it!
It depends on their rules.
Around here you expect two and if they break will be replaced at no charge. In some places where they provide a fancy covered wheeled can that will take mixed recyclables the can is so costly they are never going to give a second one for free.
If you expected two call and ask them for the other.
