What is wrong with people that litter or waste? Do you litter or waste?

Answer:
I think they're lazy or they just don't care. i don't litter myself, but it annoys me when people do.
They are social boars (pigs). They think that the rules don't apply to them. They don't care how ugly their environment is-I'd hate to see their house!
No, I don't litter, and I DO NOT allow my kids to do it either. In fact, we are always picking up other people's litter. It's rude for people to litter because everyone has to look at it.
I think it's rude! I think everyone should do their part in keeping an area trash-free. I hate it when people throw garbage out their car window... who wants to live in a landfill?

Anyway, I find it "trashy" (pun intended!) when people litter. I do not do it myself because I was raised in a proper, human way. I'm not a Neanderthal.
They are lazy, thoughtless and slobs! I try very hard not to and to teach my kids as well.
I don't litter. I'm not sure why some people have no problem tossing their trash on the ground or throwing it out the car window. I image they are slobs at home, as well.
They have no respect or pride. They are also lazy and unsanitary. I can see if there wasn't enough trash cans but this isn't the case most of the time.

My school is a dump by the end of the day. The kids do everything to leaving trash on the ground only feet of the trash can to jamming their trash in the drinking fountains.

I NEVER litter. If I can't find a trashcan, I put the litter in my pocket until I can find one.
LAZY!!
what's with people that think litter is so terrible? how many plants were killed to make space for your house? how many animals lost there homes? this idea that a plastic bag on the ground is so harmful to the enviorment is stupid. either try to stop all human progress or shut the hell up and realize that everthing you do no matter how much you think you're helping is bad for the enviorment.
they dont care littering is annoying and its a crime people dont take it seriously enough
People who do that are just plain stupid, lazy and uncaring. They just don't quite get it! They will toss a McDonald's paper bag filled with their litter out their car window while driving, and you're right behind them. I've seen things like this happen for no reason at all, and I ask myself "why did that fool do that?" It served no reason behind their thoughtless behavior and lack of common sense.

I've seen many a dumb thing in my life when it comes to the issue of litter and how people react in trying to rid themselves of even a simple piece of a chewing gum wrapper. Unbelievable! I would hate to see their home; a bunch of slobs!

I don't litter and I hate to see the litter out on the highways and even in our neighborhoods. It's trashy and filthy and uncleaned. I think imposing fines would be a great idea to stop the carelessness of rude and disgusting people who do this without thinking. A stiff penalty of $500 would definitely put a stop to their nasty litter behavior, not to mention a big dent in their wallets.
I don't litter or waste. People how litter are lazy and won't walk to a trash can. People how waste just don't care.
In response to the person who answered that littering doesn't matter because we're already affecting the environment - wow, what a petulant, pessimistic attitude. Sure, we have an effect, but hundreds of thousands of people are working hard to find ways to minimize that effect through sustainability.

Just because you consume resources doesn't mean you have to trash everything.

I think that part of the problem also lies with manufacturers and retailers. Plastic bags don't degrade for about 100 years but are handed out for every purchase. Most of the trash I see on my street is paper (junk mail and advertisements from windshields, etc.) and plastic that blows around in the wind.

And plastic bags? Plastic bags cause over 100,000 sea turtle and other marine animal deaths every year when animals mistake them for food.
"Litterers" tend to fall into more than a few different catagories.
1. Total obliviousness to thier action at the time it is committed due to other simultaneous activities receiving more of their attention. This might be a cell phone conversation while walking, or a frantic search for the car keys in the bottom of a handbag during which some paper or other item escapes unnoticed or, if noticed, of such less importance to that person at that time that they feel a tinge of guilt but not enough to pick it up.
2. Germ-o-phobes who are disgusted by even their own kleenex may discard it on the spot as holding on to it for later disposal is too disgusting for them to put it off. (Of course they are a bit self focused, leaving their gross trash for the rest of us to be exposed to, particularly if we pick it up for proper disposal for the greater common good.)
3. Not -In -My-Car litterers pride themselves upon their vehicle and its perfection. The world outside thier perfectly cleaned car is their trash can. They generally don't notice the natural world unless it might dirty the outside of their car. Out the window is into the trash for these constricted thinkers.
4. In - Your -Face litterers particularly enjoy commiting the act when others are watching. They are just looking for someone to challenge their "right" not to be lowly enough to pick up, or deal with, their own trash. It is servant work in their minds. They want us to know they are slaves to no-one and are willing to fight, maybe even throw a punch, if you want to talk about it.
5. Lazy people: It is just too much trouble in their busy life to find a trash can. They simply delegate the clean up to those who care, because they are overwhelmed by the cares of their own day. These cares are generally rather superfluous, but to them all-consuming at that moment.
6. Kids (not all but some) of all ages who sneek a peak to see if anyone is watching and if not leave their mess because no one is there to yell at them. The psychologists would describe these folks as having an "externalized locus of control." A truely mature person does the right thing because they know it is the right thing and they hold themselves responsible regardless of whether or not anyone else will ever know of their proper actions. That is a person with an "internalized locus of control" and supposed to be the sign of the good citizen, of which good communities, or good countries are made up.
Do I litter or waste? I try not to but exactly what is meant by "waste" is unclear to me. I don't waste food, but am I wasting gas if I make a special trip to the store? It becomes more of a value judgement when "waste" is substituted for "litter." One man's trash may be another man's treasure! There may be good money in cleaning up after the litterers!
People who deliberately litter are inconsiderate slobs. In urban areas trash is removed at great expense to taxpayers. Volunteers clean up trash in waterways annually -- I'm sure they have other things they could be doing! The trash looks terrible, impacts wildlife, and pretty says, "I don't care!" to the rest of the world.

When I arrive at work I pick up trash around my car. I don't want anyone thinking I dropped it!

Care. It's more polite and it looks nicer, too.
Just lazy and selfish.
