How many of you really care what Al Gore has to say?

Al Gore has resorted to using a small kernel of truth to give credibility to a bunch of Hollywood hype.
In the short run this does get attention, however when people discover that they are being lied to and manipulated then people do not believe anything he says.
A good example is my ex husband. He lied to me a number of times. Some of his lies even had a little truth to them and that made his lies more credible at first.
However once I figured out that he was lying to me I did not believe him on any subject even when he was telling the truth.
That is the problem that Al Gore is creating for the environmental movement.
I am not the only woman out there with a lying ex husband. Once you have discovered that they have been lying to you, their credibility is gone. You never believe anything they say ever again.
The same is true for Albert Gore.

The man is a hypocrite and a shyster. He knows he is ripping people off and continues to make huge amounts of money from his fear-mongering.
All you need to see is his reaction to the criticism of his 12,000 square foot mansion in Tennessee that uses more energy in a month than the average American uses in an entire year. Not to mention, his flying all over the world in a private jet while telling everyone else to cut back.
Regardless of what you think about global warming, this man is a fraud.
Do you know that islands never seen before are appearing off coast of Greenland? It was thought the ice was covering just water but after thousands of years islands now are seen.

The man is in it for the Money and possibly a legacy. Personally I believe he is a twit and is exploting the middle & lower class while he jets about the country and world given away our freedoms!!
I care what he has to say, but I thought what happens is not usually the glaciers that create most streams and rivers. its the snow that melts in the mountains that creates streams and rivers. The snow that melts is not usually a glacier. It is packs of snow (but not big enough packs to be called glaciers) that create most rivers & streams. In some places glaciers can melt a little to create rivers but usually the normal cycle would build the glacier up again by the annual precipitation. The cycle would go on and on like this. Now, most glaciers are melting as they would normally, but faster and not being rebuilt again as they normally were. Therefore the glaciers are slowly shrinking.
I don't care about Al Gore, I care what the scientific experts have to say. Al Gore does a good job of making their findings accessible to the common person, but that's all. The scientific evidence that humans are the primary cause for the current global warming is overwhelming. There's simply no other plausible scientific explanation. If you don't like Al Gore then ignore him and go directly to the scientific evidence.

When global warming deniers bring up Al Gore (who has nothing at all to do with science) they are simply admitting that they have no scientific arguments worth anything. This is not the politics forum.
Professional and well educated scientists have studied this full time for years. They say the present warming is unusual and unnatural. They've looked at the hard data and done the calculations. Note the key word below, "quantitative":
"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

I don't. I have no respect for anyone that asks everyone to conserve when he doesn't. He just uses his wealth to buy "offsets". He is just another liberal elite who wants everyone to sacrifice to save the earth while he cashes in on it. I don't trust him.
People on this website are really mean. While Al Gore's energy consumption is high, He has a passion for this subject and he does so much out of his way that he cant be in it for the money. He cares about the earth, but he needs to practice what he preaches. Also, you are being presumptuous by assuming that there was no Ice age. there was DUH If you dont know just about everything about global warming you dont have the right to Dis AL Gore like that. DO this study Global warming for a few months and you will see who the real shyster is.

Why does it matter what Al Gore has to say?
A large part of my work is to do with global warming and the only reason I watched his movie and read the book was to answer the questions people kept asking me. I wasn't remotely interested in what he had to say.
By the way - glaciers are always melting. They're the same as streams and rivers which are always flowing, the only difference is that one is liquid and the other is solid. Snow falls higher up the mountain where it's compressed under it's own weight and the weight of further snowfalls, it flows down the mountain under gravity and feeds into glacial systems. A glacier is nothing more than a frozen river.
I only care about what he has to say because I earned an A for tearing him apart in an essay.
