so their knees can see which way they are bending
So the **** probe can be inserted.
They don't need holes..they just prefer to wear old pants/jeans.etc.
They don't put hole's in their pants to be builders, it is because they are builders that holes form in their pants. Lots of kneeling on rough ground leads pants to wear out rapidly.
