In the UK, what charities are helping the victims of flooding?

Does anyone know of any legitimate charities - or what charities are appealing for help for all the people affected by the flooding who haven't got insurance... you know, food parcels, furniture, clothing etc?

Answer:
There's many local charities and voluntary organisations that are involved. Some of the national charities include the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Salvation Army, Oxfam, Muslim Aid, CAFOD, Lifeboats (RNLI) and several of the search and rescue organisations.

Much of the work is being co-ordinated by the Police, Fire Service, Military and Environment Agency although these aren't charities as such.

If you're wanting to make a donation then the Red Cross may be the best place to start. If they can't help directly they may be able to point you towards someone who can. Alternatively contact the local authority or Environment Agency and see what advice they can offer.
we got none for ourselves we have given them away to more needy peoples of the world?!!!
None, we are all to busy helping the rest of the world, than to help our own, Thats to-days Britain for you
Look don't worry, remember Boscastle, not all of those that fell victim to the flash flood had insurance, yet they were all taken care of, not only by charitable donations but also by government handouts, the same will happen for the victims of the more recent floods.
Haven't heard of any yet which is very disappointing. Their local Social Services would probably know of any if you wanted to give something. Try contacting them.
1.Why so that the victims can repair their petrol polluting cars and carry on causing havoc with the climate?
2.That's what governments are for to aid their people in a crisis?
3.That's what people in the UK pay tax for?

And yes I live in an area that has always suffered from floods.
They think all properties have been insured.
That's why they keep quiet.
