Live Earth concert eco-friendly??
Was it eco-friendly if they had to generate power to the bands/artists to play/compose music?? Not to mention lighting, etc.??
Answer:
It was as Eco friendly as a series of global rock concerts can possibly be.

The thing is, there are going to be concerts. But at least this one was environmentally friendly for a concert. And people are going to watch TV. But at least for once there was a better message than "look what rich 16 year olds get for their birthday!" (Thank you, MTV.)
Ok it may have raised awareness...but the last thing this planet needed was 8 rock concerts.
Eco Friendly?? Probably not because of the amount of power
used by people watching it. But it did prove a good point and
that being the fact that its not a money issue when it comes to
saving the planet its a human issue and if we don't change our ways radically over the next ten year period we'll have more major environmental issues than we'll be able to handle.
I definately agree with joe cool... The concerts themselves may not have been the most environment-friendly way of waking the world up. BUT, do you think millions of people (unfortunately, Americans especially) would have watched if it were a documentary? It's doubtful it would have pulled in even half the audience. Maybe atleast the concert will linger in most of the heads out there.
There were some gestures of eco-minded goodwill, but events of that magnitude are not eco-friendly. But if the message got out, if half the people step up and try to affect change, we'll make it up and then some.
