What if global warming got any worse what would we do?...?
Answer:
No one really knows the exact effects of global warming. There are very sophisicated models that predict various things but these models rely on information that really isnt complete so only give us a rough idea of what 'might' happen.
In my opinion people will go on living and life wont be too different for rich countries as we can afford to continue to live comfortably, although we may need to spend more money on transport, air con, and clean air etc.
People in poor countries will be worst effected and there well may be millions of people starving within the next few decades due to climate change. This will cuase a greater divede between the rich and the poor. What happens after that is anyones guess...
i believe these changes are happening much more slowly than the screamers would have you believe.
i'd worry more about crossing the street,or the car in the next lane.
eat more ice cream
the day after tomorrow is a laughable interpretation of "global warming"
the globe has seen much warmer temperatures for longer periods in the past (see "medieval warming period" in climatology) and there were no major pole shifts or menacing drops of tempatures that chase you into the nearest public library.
global warming is a meticulously constructed fear device. it has become a multi-million dollar industry. people are spending much more money fearing global warming than they would if the had never heard of global warming. this is clearly not the answer. more spnding = more carbon emissions. near 80% of common american household items are made in china. that means they have to be shipped here, with carbon based fuels. when you ruch out to buy chinese made water jugs to store water in "beacause global warmings gunna get you", you are in fact contributing to carbon emissions.
global warming is a giant marketing campaign to get americans to spend more money on crap they don't need
Al Gore needs to stop making people worry about something that might be a natural cause
Death is always around you...
The effects of global warming are slow and our generation probably won't be around to see the full effects of it. Not to mention I wouldn't except a movie as gospel about the effects of global warming. A scientist yes! A movie no!
Case in point there is lack of water and food now, we just don't see it as much because we have an excess of it in the western countries.
The world is going to end eventually, whether is by our own demise or something else, nothing can last forever.
global warming will not stop. earth is doomed to end up like mars.desolate.
there are too many people , in this world, for a world wide collaboration to be of any success.
I agree with your assumption that the world could end up like the movie you mention. I think that humans would survive. There would be some huge differences in the population and in the way we (mankind) survives.
In the beginning we could expect wide spread panic and lawlessness. As people fought for what little resources were available. Of course the rich would have no better chance than the rest of us, money would become worthless pretty quickly. Eventually small populations of people would learn to carve out a basic existence. Over thousands or millions of years the earth would begin to warm. Civilization will again begin to develop on a massive scale.
The question is how fast will the changes happen?
you do have to think about the next generation, and everyone is blowing this way out of proportion, just because people are advocating for change and awareness doesnt mean they are proposing doomsday tomorrow. gore and other presentations show what could happen sooner rather than later if left untreated, yes if we continue to deny and hide the problems they will never be solved and be around for the next generation. i hope many of you will research the issue farther than just hearsay of what others tell you. this isnt a political issue it is about being responsible and learning how to live in a world that is efficient and reduces trash and waste and cares about its effect on the environment. i hope you all search yahoo for relevant global warming articles and academic journals.
The oil companies and their sheeple "deniers" aren't concerned about the next generation.
If the projected pace of global warming worsens, not everything is going to die. But the effects will be severe--even more extensive coastal flooding that will endure for generations, extensive loss ofspeceies and climate changes that willl radically damage agricultural (food) production--also for generations.
Moving to the equator won't necessarlily help--the climate shifts will be more complex. In some cases, the opposite strategy might be necessary.
How much worse COULDit get? What I already said is what the scientists know with reasonable certainty. But there are a lot of things they don't know--none of which are likely to improve the outlook.
A last point--could the pace o fwarming accelerate? Yes--but by how much and how likely that is is also not known yet.
Obviously you have been misled about this Global Warming farce!
Seek the truth while there is still time. Jesus Christ is still the answer for the World today!!!!
there is no IF about it .
Global warming has hardly started
it is gonna get one thousand times worse
optimistically speaking.
And the worst places to be is anywhere near the Equator.or the North pole ofcourse .
now you start to worry? stay right where you are and change the way our govt. lags behind the people and Science! This the biggest test of human adaptability !
global warming will not be like the day after tomorrow, rising co2 levels will make our ozone thicker. This will cause Greenland and the Antarctic to melt, the melting wil cause sea levels to rise by 1-6m. People have found polar bears drowned, cannibalism and starved to death. temperatures will rise and cause bigger droughts by evaporation all the moist out of the ground, the water evaporated will cause floods somewhere else. Another effect from temperatures rising means sea temperatures will rise too, causing bigger cyclones and more hurricanes. The golden toad was the first species to go extinct in the late 1980's. The great barrier reef will die from rising sea temperatures, lots of areas will disappear due to climate change. there is this current in the ocean that keeps sea temperatures average(which will change due to global warming), if Greenland melts the cold water will go into this current and turn Europe into an ice age. The way we are able to live is in danger.
are you guys reading the bible. it's said there that the lord won't let the thing that happened to noah happen again. Meaning that there is a high chance it won't occur.
You honestly believe that that could happen?
Global Warming is NOT that big a deal. The earth's climate changes constantly. Who are we to say what is the ideal temperature for the earth. Infact, did you know that 20 years ago the big environmental concern was global cooling? The climate changes, people have to accept that...
Also Al Gore is a facsimile of a sham. People should accept that too.
