Will "Live Earth" make a difference?
Answer:
remember the 60ties
we had an enormous impact on changes
because of the cultural revolution
we cannot have enough exposure to raise Environmental awareness .
Many people will be affected
Al Gore Mentions 2 billion
that is a lot more than the crowds that Jesus pulled
You may not agree with Al Gores aproach in his movie ,but the results are all positive
Many people agree that because of that they have become aware that there even is a problem ,and decided to investigate further or even change their lifestyle a bit
this is all good,
And these concerts will do a lot more, and world wide
Bringing Global warming into the focus of the masses .
The effects of Woodstock rippled on for decades changing atitudes that persist with many people who are in power today .
A changed mentality with the youth today means changes with control tomorrow
At least in theory
maybe, but as long as people see that its not the music, its the point, than we might be saved, doubtful though...the world will end in 30 years...
Only in the pocket books and setting up the younger generation to be controlled by the govt on how they live their lives by tellling them false science and making them think that they will DIE if they don't do something.
No; it will just make today's younger generation lust more and more for the consumptive lifestyles that the artists lead. They will see the glamor and the money but will not see the environment. "Lie" Earth will make no difference.
i dont want life to end!
no, because for every one person in our world that actually care, there are 100 that are lazy and milking the earth and governments for all they are worth.
No it will not make a difference! This whole concert is a joke and a waste of time!!
I caught a quote earlier from London. If a leaf on a tree turns color, the tree has become different. I don't believe the impact will be immediately noticeable, but I do believe it will be the beginning of something good.
Any rock star or celebrity trying to convince people they've "gone green" and "care about the earth" is pretty much a hypocrite.
They fly across the country back & forth numerous times a week/month for work and press and act like just because they drive a hybrid car on their days off they're helping the planet.
No, its just something for failing artists to do for exposure.
No one cares about what these people have to say, most of them dont even have a college degree or finished highschool-duh!
The best way to make a difference, people need to write their congressman, and get off their bum and do something!!
nope b/c the people who care about the environment DO things not WHINE about it...this concert is for people who say they care b/c it is the "in" thing to say and don't actually DO anything...
I doubt it. I hate to say that, but people only want to watch it to see the music. I mean think about all the wasted energy just from watching it...I don't really get it I guess.
I hope it will make some difference but I think it's more of what you and I do and continue to do in our every day that counts the most. By that I don't mean just changing our light bulbs in silence but TELLING others what we do and really demand actions from our governments.
We can never turn back the clock, but it's never too late to do the best of what we've got. The world will not end but it's our decisions which impacts if it will be a nice planet to live on in the future.
About the "sacrifice" thing it doesn't have to be that hard if we act now! We will have to sacrifice very much more if we wait longer. Right now there are good solutions available which doesn't REALLY have to have high impact on our lives if only our governments gives us the tools to help us.
No because Madonna is a whore.
