Has the global warming issue become overly politicised. So people base their opinion on it's existence on?
It seems to me, that global warming is attributed to the loony leftish brigrade, rather than seen as an ecological phenomena, manmade or otherwise.

Your assessment of Global Warming/Climate Change being a political football used by the 'Left' is probably correct. I'm not sure what their ultimate plan on this is, but for the moment it's not so much climate change as people control.
I listened to one old and learned scientist talking about climate change on TV a couple of days ago. He said that while the Northern Hemisphere is indeed warming up, and that there had actually been no noticeable increase in temperatures since 1999, the southern hemisphere is cooling down.
What we have then, in plain speak, is the northern half of the orb warming up and the southern or Oz half cooling down.
He also pointed out that film[s] showing ice-melt in the Arctic regions in the summer months is quite normal and that people should not be alarmed or confused by this.
We must remember that when it is summer in the northern hemisphere, the polar regions of the north pole are actually exposed to blazing sunlight for nearly 24 hours in every day for nearly six months. It's little wonder therefore that huge amounts of ice melts.
What is actually in polar ice? Strange as it may seem, much of the polar ice is full of trapped oxygen/air. If you see any film of an iceberg with sound, you can hear a sort of low groaning sound. This is caused by air bubbles trapped in the ice being released to the atmosphere.
My own suspicion is that the 'left' are up to no good and have conned millions of gullible people into believing that the future is bleak in the extreme.
What we have is 'people control'. If you cannot control the sex activities of the people, fill their minds with fear for the future and you can control them that way.
Anyone who does not believe what I am saying is living in cloud cuckoo land; something the Greeks understood very well.
It is next to impossible for any scientist, no matter how reasoned his argument, to go against the tide of the global warming brigade.
Two reasons.
Reason one. If you want government funding for any project you must associate it with global warming a study into or thereof etc.
Reason two. Any scientist who proclaims and produces evident that global warming is a load of SF crap invented by the left, is classified as though he/she is a Holocaust denyer.
Very difficult to get out of the trap set by the left.
They've now got us sorting our own rubbish, like we're a bunch of robots. People think they're saving the planet. They're not. Most of the sorted recycled junk ends up in China where they have massive warehouses full of our plastic and paper. I've seen it on TV. One woman who was taken to one of these China junk sites by an investigative journalist, actually found a letter with her name and address on it amongst the rubbish of paper.
How much effing evidence do people need?
All it is, is a way for your local authority [council] to make money out of your rubbish. You sort it out on their behalf, they pay you nothing for your time and effort. They then sell your sorted paper and plastic etc to the Chinese and pocket the profits.
In my childhood back in the 1940s we recycled everything and got money for things. The odd penny for a jam jar, a few pennies for a bunch of rags, old newspapers etc. We got paid for all of this by the rag and bone man or a shop in the town where you took all of this.
The EU [loooney left monsters one and all] made law so that it became impossible for the private citizen to recycle his own stuff and make money from it.
I am not stupid. I am a pensioner and people in their thirties and forties talking piffle do not impress me.
Why are there so many, recently students and jobsworths, telling me on TV that all the floods/flooding is to do with global warming?
Crap, it is not. The UK has always been subject to severe flooding. I can remember far worse flooding than that which we have had now.
Why are so many people affected by floods? Simply because their 'new' house has been built on a flood plain. If a person buys a house in low land with a river within a mile or two, sooner or later that land will flood.
2000 years ago during the Roman period in Britain, the water table was 200 feet higher than it is today. Avalon was actually an island then, so too was Thanet in Kent. No so today, but maybe again soon.
Global warming is just a load of cobblers.
One final additional note: We only have weather records going back to c1914. Someone somewhere at the beginning of WW-One decided to note down the number of clouds and raindrops, whatever.
My grandfather fought in that bloody war. And guess what? His trench, so he said, and who's to deny him? was full of water most of the time and the blokes got trench foot as a result. A sort of rotting of the feet. All of this water fell mostly in the summer months. In the winter everyone half froze to death because of the snow and ate a diet of boiled bacon and beans.
It has become 99% political 1% factual and neither extremist viewpoint wants to look at reality.

Global warming is the new 'religion' its only use is to control the masses. How Governments can base the future of their nations on science which is at best unproven at worst out right lies is beyond me, its natural get over it!
Now if they went on about how we are using up the earths resources i would have some support for that.
I get the impression that these zealots will only be happy when are all living in mud huts. ie. the third world have been living like that for years now its our turn for the huts and their turn for the high life!!
It's hard to explain. I totally understand that global society, and the West in particular, is long overdue for a greater environmental sensibility, but the science has been TOTALLY bastardized in order to coerce the apathetic to do the right thing (for the wrong reasons - to save their butts.)
Beyond the fact that it is intellectually dishonest, my greatest fear is that the alarmists tactics will have the end result of alienating the apathetic to the point of a NET harm to the environment.
I can not believe you (the answers) are still saying global warming does not exist. Have you been hiding in your basement for the past 10 years? There have been so many studies proving why and how this is caused. If you have another idea, shoot, cause we're all listening.
As for the question, In my opinion, the more that we get the knowledge around, the better. The sooner we take action, and begin to change, we might actually be able to save our planet.

It is 99.9% political propaganda. People need to step back and let science work itself out. Unfortunately it is a $40 billion industry and money does corrupt. Numerous polls of scientists actually show that only a relatively small number support the idea that it is manmade but the left has done a great job with their McCarthy like tactics in keeping the opposition from speaking out though thousands still do and more come out all the time.

It is why Patrick Moore and so many others like myself left Greenpeace. The environment should not be used for political gain. Majority of those aginst Live Earth are ex-Greenpeace like myself. Environmental Activism should never be used for political gain or money.
