I recently saw a Hornet for the first time in Telford Shropshire?
Answer:
ABsoutely. They live everywhere near me, and they are huge, so they can be really scary. They are part of our ecosystem too though, so i try to avoid killing them except when they are in the house. I enjoy looking at their abandoned nests. How could something we consider inferior and brainless buld such complicated structures. hornets are cool, and they usualy do not sting you.
I saw one in Suffolk. In fact I had never seen one before and didn't realise how huge they are! I was thinking it was just a little bigger than a queen wasp but this thing was at least 5 times bigger! And it was in the house!
Yeah, be careful with those cuz they can sting the poop out of you... Trust me i know!
OMG! No!
They sound really scary - I don't even like bluebottles 'cos they buzz - and they don't even sting!
Maybe I need to reconsider my thoughts on global warming being a good thing to us that live in the chilly north of England!
I'm in TX and my son's schools' mascot is a hornet but I have bad eyesight so I can't say that I have-I did sit on a bee once. It stung for a minute but I must have a great immune system geared for that b/c after about 5 minutes, it went away. No swelling or itching-nothing. I have seen (and felt) plenty of wasps. They suck!
Edit: If you live in England and you guys aren't accustomed to flying, stinging insects-that's just more incentive for me to move there.
no i haven't sorry if that's disappointing
