What do you think we should do?
Answer:
plant trees everywhere and get electric cars
its a start, easier said than done of course especially when no one wants to do either
Recycle
um, get a grip. why are you people so easy to brainwash? that global warming propaganda is stupid
I doubt very much that there is anything we can do. We know for sure that it has happened before and will happen again. I suspect we are accelerating it but cannot stop it no matter what we do.
Everything we can to stop it...we really aren't acting like it's a problem for us, now.that makes me sick...
nothing I think we have more problems to worry about then globel warming... lets make the world a better place then we can save it...
I think we are the only virus on the planet that feels bad about what we destroy.
i don't think we can reverse it but i think we should try to reduce emmissions and try to conserve energy as best we can. even if you don't believe in global warming you have to agree that it is healthier for the environment so maybe we should just unite behind that unstead of arguing about it so much.
We can get off our lazy butts and acctually walk a block or to to work or school, heck, if ure that lazy get an electric scooter!! Lol.
is there anything we can do now? we should have 'done' something before it became a problem. besides saving forests, recycling, and getting all the toxins out of the air, i dont know.
Since there isn't much that we can do, it may be time to give up on the token efforts to do something.

have you seen An Inconvenient Truth? if you haven't you must! global warming is devastating
on climatecrisis.net it says 10 steps of things to do for global warming
http://www.climatecrisis.net/pdf/10thing...
1. change a light
2. drive less
3. recycle more
4. check your tires
5. use less hot water
6. avoid products with a lot of packaging
7. adjust your thermostat
8. plant a tree
9. turn of electronic devices when you aren't using them
10. spread the word about global warming
For some time I have been considering the plight of the Environment, and failure of political leaders to agree to cap carbon emissions. A few seemingly unconcerned countries flaunt any reasonable proposal by those who are concerned and continue to produce and export product to the world.
There has been tabled for some time the concept of carbon trading, which, if everyone signed up to it would provide at least some control over the present situation. However sadly if the unconcerned countries continue to be indifferent there will be little or no improvement?
A means has to be tabled which does not rely on the approval of every nation, but is transparently fair to all, and directly addresses the alarming situation we find ourselves. Yet it has to be such that all countries WANT to join in the scheme.
Consequently I would like set aside carbon trading and table another method of carbon emission control. There is a great deal of movement of goods round the world, there is not one nation that can survive without trade of some sort, furthermore, there is not one country that does not trade significantly with the economic powerhouse of (say) the EEC or the USA. The EEC has sufficient political and economic “clout” to make this proposal a reality, as does the USA, both is even better.
The proposal.
Leaders and scientist of the planet once met in Kyoto and recommended proposals for each country to reduce carbon emissions. Allowances were set. Sadly some countries decided to ignore this, failed to ratify the Kyoto accord making it a futile agreement.
I propose, to take the set goal of each country (set one if there was not one already set) and those concerned countries levy a proportionate import duty on goods which is inversely proportional to its carbon performance of the exporting country.
It would be nice if all countries partake in this proposal but if only the EEC and other concerned regions did, it would succeed. The Carbon tariff works as follows.
Most countries rely on free trade and access to markets. However, this is not fair if one country spends its money on expensive carbon clean up, whilst another ignores its pollution. Suppose goods are imported into the EEC. A carbon assessment tariff (CAT) is charged on those goods at the point of entry. A poor environmental performance by the exporting country imposes (say) a 10% import duty. If the exporter were to get its act together and make improvements to its pollution performance then this import tax would be reduced to 1% or even 0%. Countries performing well would enjoy the trading benefits of lower import tariffs, and those who pollute would sell fewer goods because their product costs more abroad and therefore encourage them to improve. This Carbon Assessment Tariff is levied on everything, and although it would increase the cost of all imported goods, the money can be given back to the people through taxation breaks elsewhere.
Grounds for objection.
If the levy is applied to every Nation, in proportion to its pollution performance, then it is fair to all.
It protects home industries, yes!
It is not fair to developing countries? It is a taxation levied by concerned countries; all countries are able to make some improvements so improve their trading ability. Who wants to buy goods from polluting countries anyway?
We do not have the agreement of every country on the planet. Its not needed.
Who sets the levels and goals? Those nations taking part in the scheme! Who isn’t going to want to take part and have a say in its own taxation!!
Think globally, act locally is the catch cry I believe. Do what you can. I learned about this stuff 15 yrs ago but I could have been the guy in the short film that ignored the rising water til his house was submerged. Personally, I'm going to buy the energy efficient light bulbs the next time I go to the supermarket (with my reusable bags) and boycott shops with excessive packaging. Small, but it's a start.
We all should be recycling, reusable bags for your groceries, buying local food(it taste better anyways), hybrid cars, compost our food and use it to fertilize our gardens and lawns or even better buy native plants for your yard and get rid of the water wasting lawns that we all have. You should use biogegradable cleaning products like Meyers, Seventh Generation, and Method.
If each household changes 5 light bulbs to 5 CFL it is like that household has taken 400000 cars off the street. The 99 cent sells those bulbs so they are not expensive and they are good for the environment.
Also when remodeling your home choose products that are engery star or renewable materials like Cork or Bamboo. If you have to have Granite make sure it comes locally.
try to get people informed about our earths current status. the reals reason why no one takes action is because the people in power dont want to loose money by cutting back on things they sell, create, or whatever. the cost to switch to energy saving things is a lot of meny too. thats why not that many people want to switch to biodiesel. plus the cost of living went up and now people want the cheaper way out of things.
we need to write letters, do protests, inform the people of this wrold to prevent the worst from happening.

Tell the idiots blowing it out of all proportions where to shove it, as the vast majority of the problem is scientists desperately trying to cling onto their precious research funding + politicians who've realised plugging it is a brilliant way to screw a bit more tax money out of everyone, and in turn boost their pay as a result.
Nothing, just relax and stop worrying about things in nature you have no control over. Now, if you could come up with a way to make all the cows stop farting, that might help a bunch.
1. Plant alot of trees.
2. Don't waste water.
3. Don't leave electic on that's not in use.
4. Don't smoke.
5. Don't cut down alot of trees.
6. Recycole.
7. Don't use alot of Cloryn in pools.
8. Don't litter.
9. Don't pollute.
10. Don't run your car for no reason.
Have a beach party, in Kansas, think of all the new ocean fronts we can have when La sinks to the bottom. I hope they sale tickets.
I think we should:
Recycle
Ride on the subway
Take shorter showers
Hand was dishes
Turn lights off when to needed (turn 'em off when traveling too)
Use single space
Use front and back off paper
Plant a tree at least every year that way all of America has more than 7 million trees
Please follow these ideas they will also save your future grand kids and money.
