How is waste disposal in the UK different from other countries?
oh and please mention if there are any laws related to waste disposal, like if u throw something on the street ur gonna have to pay a fine, etc etc! .
p.s. only the eco friendly ones...
Answer:
We get rubbish collected every night. But we dont have indivual house bins, we share big community bins and we all walk a little way to throw our stuff away. If it was not collected every night it would be right manky in this heat. Its efficient for the collection cos the truck makes one stop for a couple of minutes and empties 4 big bins which serve about 40 houses.
And now, if you get caught throwing a cigarette butt out of your car window its a fine plus 4 points on your licence. Not only bad waste management but a risk of fire in the grass by the road.
In some places near where I live.. the council (local government) put skips in each street... because they know the residents would otherwise just throw their rubbish in to the road.
I hope this is of some help
costs more in the UK.
'Fraid we're pretty poor at it. Fortunately in Glasgow, the Local Council have come down very hard on it recently.. on-the-spot fines by 'Litter Wardens'. Its caused some aggro on the streets, but when people dont. or wont abide by volountary codes of conduct.. Local, or worse.. Central Government step in with the Law.!
