I think Bill Gates is going to give everyone one million dollars if they reach 50,000 points or more. That's what an email going around promises. That, and you might have already won 20 million dollars in the Nigerian Lottery; all you need to do is send $10,000 to claim it.

Nothing. It's just a way to make yourself feel good as an "expert participant".
The points just let you move up to higher levels with less restrictions on how many questions you can ask and answer. And you get a little green "TOP CONTRIBUTOR" label on your icon.
Exciting.

But i agree i´d rather have dollars
