How can I help the Earth?
Answer:
The most important thing? Don't spread the word of "global warming" that just irritates people. Spread the word of keeping the earth clean and saving energy, oil (and money). Global warming, correctly termed climate change, is not as well understood as Al Gore and crew would like you to believe. There is still much to be learned about it, but we do know about the dangers of soil pollution, air pollution, water pollution, diminishing resources and oil dependence however. These are the things that we should be concerned with, not some half-baked theory that most people don't even understand.
You can also forget about carbon offsets. Your money is better spent buying energy effecient appliances (you could get a toaster oven to use instead of heating up a big oven for example), buying organic food (much better environmentally) or buying tote bags to use when you go shopping, or even getting a bicycle if you don't already have one. Carbon offsets are a gimmick some people thought up to make money. If you're up for it, adopting a vegetarian or vegan diet is a big plus for the environment. Factory farming is among the top causes of pollution.
If you would like to learn more about climate change, I would suggest looking for information from places like NASA and also look up some research from scientists who dispute the theory, so you can understand both sides. A very interesting thing to research would be the history of climate change over the years (well, I find history interesting anyway). You could start by reading about the "Little Ice Age." Very interesting stuff and so much more to learn than what is in The Inconvenient Truth.
use rainwater to do dishes or water plants; turn water off instead of it running doing dishes
Give up all your material goods, like your house, vehicle, electricity, anything that uses energy.
Then go live in a cave and try to breathe as little as possible.
Ignore any thumbs down I receive. I really want you to help save the earth, and my suggestion will really help reduce carbon emissions.
planet an organic garden. and reap the benefits.
don't have to many babies...seriously
the increase in population is not a good thing.
well, unless you quit eating meat, you are still a HUGE part of the problem..as a matter of fact, ANYONE who claims to be green and is still eating farm animals, should consider themselves on par with religious people who sin like there's no tommorow. ok?
HAH! i love it, somebody thumb downs my claim.what? too much hassle to give up eating meat? gawd...you folks are really serious huh? yeah, right.
Cut back on fuel use by carpooling, walking or bicycling short trips, and driving a little slower.
Plant some trees if you have a yard.
Cut back on energy use in the home. Raise your thermostat setpoints.
Eat less meat (raising livestock produces a lot of greenhouse gases).
And of course, vote for politicians who want environmental progress.
The best way to fight climate change is to donate to either a well known charity, or a non-profit carbon offsetter. Websites like www.CO2Debt.com screen charities for efficiency and allocate donations to them. You can look for other carbon offset programs, but a lot of them are for profit, Co2debt.com is a non profit group. !

Okay lets first start with your lightbulbs, vhange them to compact florescent balbs they save alot of energy. Use as less energy as you can and gye a fuel enficent casr or hybrid. Takes theses tips seriously im an envornmental freak.
The ecology is everyone's responsibility, but you can't force people to comply with it, if they don't want to.
become vegetarian
flick off all the lights when u are not using them
lower your heater and instead of using an air conditionair, use a fan.
Go to david suzuki.com and join the nature challenge!! he needs to get 1 million people !!
just be careful you don't do too much as global cooling could be just as devastating as global warming. be very careful not to overdo it.
One of the many causes of global warming is the emission of CO2 from fossil fuels from cars, motorcycles, trains and such. The best way to cut this down is to carpool whenever possible, ride a bike, or walk. Using canvas grocery totes when you go shopping will prevent plastic grocery bags from getting thrown away which just build up in landfills. Compact flourescent light bulbs will reduce the amount of energy use. Power down things that you are not using and then unplug them to save energy.
I like to chop down trees and build stuff, but thats just me.
