The biggest harm global warming will do is economic. Moving people away from the coast, replacing things lost due to flooding, fixing damaged agriculture. All this will cost hundreds of billions of dollars and may drive the world into a Depression that will make the 1930s look like good times.

The best way to fight climate change is to donate to either a well known charity, or a non-profit carbon offsetter. Websites like www.CO2Debt.com screen charities for efficiency and allocate donations to them. You can look for other carbon offset programs, but a lot of them are for profit, Co2debt.com is a non profit group.
Depends on what we do about it... if we do nothing then everywhere is going to be more dangerous than it is now, weather will be much more unpredictable and it's hard to really comprehend the scale of the damage that will have occurred. Suffice to say that it will have a flow on impact, as those worse effected by flooding or drought flee their homes we'll start to see wars too.
If we switch the basis of our energy economy to geothermal power though we'll probably be alright although we still might see some bad effects of global warming at this stage because we have left things so damn late. Still it would make a huge difference and (unlike a lot of things suggested by hysterical environmentalists) is actually both affordable and practical.

Unless of course you want to make a complete fool of yourself, like some did with the "hole in the ozone" which was going to be the death of mankind, with everyone having skin cancer etc. No they sweep it under the rug, because its not convenient to mention that it was a lie. just like GW is a lie.
