Why have schools, books, all that paper, travel, when the climate is in danger?
Answer:
First, I hope you believe that you are ahead of most people and most people feel Global Warming is a joke and will go away. Politicians know that and are willing to sit back and wait, they do not wish to lead in the effort to curtail what people want and get voted out of office and replaced by someone willing to say what people want to hear.
Second, you are not the only one that understands and others will learn and then, only then, politicians and school officials will follow. It takes courage to risk wealth and future for the sake of the truth. You are ahead of most, not all, but most. I am an old scientist, I found the data simply convincing.
I could say why have newspapers, why have holidays ..when climate is in danger. We must use more conservatively and be aware of the delicate balance. People seem to have forgotten the hippies fight to stop power hungry autos from burning up the planet. The big 6's and V8 where given the axe in early 70's . Now they are back, bigger and more powerful than ever..
......please explain that one
I have a friend who is getting his education from a widely advertised Internet school. Twice now he has hit failing grades because the school had not given him the prerequisite course. But signed him up and took his money for a course he could not complete. No refunds,
I have never been too enthusiastic about a course where you only write e-mails with your instructor, or see him only as a face on a TV screen.
My friend's experience bears me out.
And as bad as education is today anyhow, you want to move the kid to an impersonal TV screen to get his education?
I suggest that it is NOT a wise course of action IF we care about giving kids a good education.
And in answer to your CO2 question, not much. Kid still has to eat, breathe, get to sports practices (can't learn football online!). And buses are in general more efficient than cars, since they carry so many more.
And to your climate comment, we will always have a climate of some sort as long as the Earth exists. And the materials you have been being spoon-fed on the terrible things about to happen are disputed by a lot of learned men, and if you look at the person talking it up, he has mansions, jets, big SUVs...not exactly following his own preaching, And his "Carbon Credits" are being used to destroy the Rain Forests of earth by huge greedy corporations. And the little people from the jungle now have no place to live, no place to grow food , no animals left...what is really in danger?
The climate will take care of itself, and evidence is this is a natural change, at least mostly, and also that the nations of the earth flourished in previous global warmings, nice homes, plenty of food and luxuries, creartive artists galore.
I think I'd rather live like that than be always afraid of the Global Warming police searching out my hot-dog roasting fire with helicopters and cameras and hauling me and my child off to jail for an illegal hot-dog roast. I'd hate to have my income capped, being told what I had to drive, how long I could watch TV, how far I could walk before I gave off too much heat and CO2.
problem is, not everyone have access to the internet or can afford online education.
All education done online? In my opinion, thats rather idealistic.
What do schools, books and paper have to do with global warming?
not by much since a part of electricity is made from coal. But you'd think those people using airplanes and limos who are touting climate change would at least think what they are doing.
