What's the best way to organize the recycle bin?
Answer:
There isn't really a particular way to do it just separate into separate buckets:
Cans
Plastic
Glass
Mixed paper
and newspaper
Make sure that no newspaper is in mixed paper because mixed paper needs to be higher quality than newspaper.
Also, paperboard such as Kleenex boxes, frozen food boxes, etc. go in mixed paper.
When putting out things like kleenex boxes or things that have plastic as well as paper, or more than one material, you have to cut out the plastic and throw it away, or else it can't be used.
hope this helps! -Rachel
Divide into their own categorical sections.
depends on how your area's recycling program works. I would separate paper and plastics/metal. And if the recycling truck puts plastics and cans in the same area there's no need to separate the two. Packing shouldn't matter since they're going to crush it in the plant anyway
where i live we have three seperate trash collections. paper, aluminum and glass, and regular trash. i keep three seperate garbage cans out back in my yard. i rinse out my cans and bottles, crush the cans and keep them in one bin. i breakdown cardboard boxes and cut them into smaller pieces if necessary in another bin. i toss out my regular trash in the last bin. whenever trash day comes around i just roll the right bin out to the curb.
