What's a way to convience people that polute the earth to stop?

Answer:
I would suggest reading "Living Downstream" by Sandra Steingraber. I read it for an environmental ethics class, and I highly recommend it. If facts that pollution is destroying the earth for future generations, perhaps the immediate approach would be more effective? Many pollutants cause cancer. Even using pesticides on the lawn are hazardous, especially for pets or children who play on the grass.
Make it cost more for them to pollute than not pollute. It's the only solution.
CONVINCE EVERYONE TO SIGN THE PETITION HERE:

OR ASK THEM TO GET INVOLVED WITH YAHOO!'S THING WITH THE EARTH AND HOW WE CAN ALL GO GREEN.
I think the best way is to use visual examples. For example the ones that Gore used in "An Inconvenient Truth." Showing pics of what stuff looks like now compared to what it will look like in 5 or 10 years. I think that kind of stuff really hits home for people.
Charge them money.

At this time, it is cheaper for them to destroy the earth than to conserve it. If they had to pay relevant fees for their destructive habits, it would stop pronto.
Since the tire iron is the number one blunt instrument, I would say... SWING AWAY!

And then chop the body up and feed the meat to the everglades alligators.
There really isn't a way to convince people. You can talk until you are blue in the face...but if they don't want to hear it, they won't listen.
Most people only believe in what they see. They don't think the problem is serious until its right in front of them, such as our gas pumps going dry. There would be a huge panic, and a lot of chaos if that happened. And it's going to happen, if we don't get this under control.
Sometimes you have to force people, or offer bigger incentives to recycle.
Greater deposits on Aluminum Cans
Money off at the Grocery Store for using canvas bags.
Things like that.
If people still don't want to follow the lead, than I guess people could use force, like mandatory government taxes on products that aren't environmentally friendly. And then those taxes can be put back into the environment
It's a tough situation, but it's going to take all of us to fix it.
You have to make them "want" to change. Usually that has to have somthing to do with money as a motivator. So, we can either "fine" them for doing the wrong thing and/or "reward" them for doing the right thing.

Like charging more and more for gas, until they have to start conserving because they can no longer afford it. We have done this on cigarettes and it has reduced the number of smokers, but obviously the tax isn't high enough yet.
try them to eat the dust they produce if they already breath it from the air, why not? the interior nose is much more sensitive than your stomach. imagine a bread made of dust instead of flavour?
