Do you believe in Global Warming?
Answer:
We know the earth has had many warm periods and ice ages. I don't think people had much if anything to do with it. We know that back in the middle ages there was a period of warming that caused snow to melt off of mountains in Turkey, grapes to grow in and other crops to thrive in northern Europe. They did not have a way to keep tempreature records but, they had Monks, Historians and other scholars writting about any significant change in the weather. I'll say again I don't think people have much to do with it and if Global warming is happening again I think it's a good thing most of our crop land is in the north.
Yes, the earth is warming.
No, we can't explain how man effects that process.
Oh GEE... it's that idiotic "Global Warming" question.. being asked for the 10,000th time this month...
Global warming is real and, unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple of months, you would know that over 98 PERCENT of the World's Scientists BELIEVE IT IS HAPPENING.
Personally, I just don't care to answer this ignorant question again... you can believe whatever stupid thing it is you want to believe because I REALLY DON'T CARE...
If you don't want to believe facts, then you are too stupid for me to argue with.
What get's me are the AmeriKans who are so stupid they believe that GEEZUS will come down from heaven and we will all rise up in the air to greet him... but they refuse to believe FACTS... like Global Warming, Evolution and a clump of blood cells in not a baby.
No. Many millions of years ago the same thing happened and there were no cars around. Remember, in the 70's people thought that there was going to be an Ice Age. People just want to predict disaster!
Of course, being nice to the environment can't hurt so I wouldn't mind cutting carbon emissions.
Oh sure I do. I have to go now, Santa Claus is coming over for cookies and milk!
There is no question that the Earth is warming up. You said so yourself. That's global warming, no matter what you choose to call it. The only question open to debate is what's causing it. Is it a natural cycle, or are we contributing to it? Personally, I don't care, because that's not the only reason why we need to reduce emissions. Here in the Phoenix area, we have high pollution warnings on a regular basis, often serious enough that they tell even healthy adults to stay inside or limit their outdoor activities. If air that is unsafe to breathe isn't enough to convince you that something should be done to improve air quality, what will it take?
You just contradicted yourself.
"There is no such thing as Global Warming. The Earth at it's current state is on an upward warming trend."
A global upward warming trend IS global warming!
Clearly you need to do some research on the issue. You shouldn't come to a conclusion about any scientific issue based on so little information. Especially an issue which could potentially be the most critical one faced in the history of the human race.
There are many websites which explain the science behind global warming. Please go read some.
have you ever heard of the greenhouse effect where do you think the exhaust from cars and all the pollution goes to Here is what happens when these man-made molecules are released into the atmosphere:
1) They mix in the troposphere
2) They rise into the stratosphere
3) When exposed to UV light, the C-Cl bond is broken and the free radical Cl. is formed
4) Cl. reacts with ozone (O3) to form O2 and ClO, another radical.
5) ClO reacts with O to form O2 and Cl.
our ozone layer is thickening because of man made pollution that is wy the upward warming trend is happen and yes it can go down in a couple of decades if people stop polluting now but the more man made pollution there is the thicker the ozone layer is going to get and the hotter our planet will become i believe if the trends continue like they have been cities like vancouver and new york will be under water in less than 500 years because with the continous warming trend all the ice glacers up north and down south will melt expainding our oceans causing cities close to the ocean to sink under the ocean so please do your part to help prevent global warming
Well there is no such thing as man made global warming but the temperature is going up naturally.
global warming is amazing. i like pie. do you like pie? but choloclate is better.
With all the respect... because of people like you our world is coming apart, people don't believe in global warming and the less we recycle and save energy and the less we do to stop polluting our cities the more affected will be.
Yes, now whether it is caused by man is another thing entirely.
Call it what you will, but the Earth is in distress. Try telling polar bears that global warming doesn't exist. You have way oversimplified the issue and I would suggest leaving science to the scientists. You don't know what your talking about and I'm quite sure you are not informed on the matter anyway.
i believe in global warming
but if you don't , you don't
i feel as though even if you don't believe in global warming you should still take care of your environment
Mamac, you DID contradict yourself.
At the moment the earth is getting warmer, but the cause and how fast and how far it will go are all unknowns, regardless of how many politicians and Big Businesses and paid off scientists jump on the bandwagon. 50 years ago, it was getting colder at about the same rate, and prior to that it was warming rapidly w/o all the pollutions of today. The loyal opposition has better answers than the Gore Bandwagon and all the bands on it!.
And yes, we definitely should be doing something. Working on the issue of folks living below sea level, means possibly moving cities inland, for safety. Slowly but fast enough.
Working on getting all the new crop seeds going for adapting to a warmer, higher CO2 environment. And working on preventing the slaughter of the jungles by the Consensus Carbon Credits before we lose that buffer, and before the people in it are exterminated by the bulldozers and politics.
Yobarrabas, yes, if you helped to spread the truth, maybe the questions could really be answered. But as long as politics and Big Money are on one side, and independent researchers are working careful on the other, not much will be done.
Do you favor personally that the politicians and Big Business be given carte blanc to have their own way with all the rest of us, or do you believe we need to be very careful how we push our spacecraft, and know what buttons will have what effect?
98% of scientists have the religious-like Gorean faith that regardless of evidence, man is totally to blame, and things will become terrible unless all of the restrictive and punitive laws are enacted and people penalized, etc., when history contradicts this directly?
You, I presume, believe it is right to present to our children propaganda at an early age so they have a faith in Prophet Gore and his allies. As having more truth than history itself does? When do we open the Memory Holes of 1984 so truth becomes what you want it to be?
And would you not then be for equal treatment of religions and need to ALSO indoctrinate these same school children in the Faith of the Hutterites, and the Pentecostals, and the Buddists, and the Hindus and Islaam, and how to hold to your clan's rights and duties, how to speak in strange tongues (with a speaking lab), and the advantges of having 4 wives and dying hacking the unbelievers to bits.
Global warming is real, happens all the time, except when Global Cooling is real, and happens. Have you been living under that rock during Global Cooling?
"Personally, I just don't care to answer this ignorant question again... you can believe whatever stupid thing it is you want to believe because I REALLY DON'T CARE... If you don't want to believe facts, then you are too stupid for me to argue with." OK, the statement of a closed mind, who will not even defend his faith to an unbeliever. Interesting. And believer and unbeliever are really religious terms, right? Faith can be supported, but not really proven.
I am very interested in where these AmenKans live and work, and what their beliefs are on Global Warming. I personally never heard of this nationality or race, so please enlighten me on where they are, and what they believe in. Sounds like it could be an interesting country to visit. I presume since you know them so well you have been there and studied them already. I am very interested in this GEEZUS they proclaim. Is this convergent social evolution? Or facts changing with time in divergent directions. Are you going to take your degree in this? Love a copy of your doctoral thesis if so. Thanks in advance.
Mamac, I believe that there is global warming currently going on naturally, and I believe that earlier there was a cooling period, and a warming before that, and that the LIA cooling and the MWP warming both happened, and that we need to study the whys and hows of them carefully before we do much if any tampering with the settings of the Earth.
This blind faith in the religion of science, and the insistence we need to do something, anything, but do it now, reminds me of a student driver when I took driver's ed in high school. This one person had learned the book, but when it came to drive, the person got in, looked under the dash to find the pedal, and then floored the gas. The instructor barely halted us before a major accident. This person knew the words, and theories, but only looked at one thing at a time and took it to its limit.
Whom do we have prepared to put the brakes on if we "floor" the Earth one way and it turns out not to be the best way and speed? Do we have a backup prepared. and "undo" button to push?
I can't believe you can't give a little feeling to the arctic animals. Shame on you!
No, I don't believe it.
