Were the Live Earth Concert tickets free?

If not, where did the proceeds go? How much did they collect? Who holds the money?

Answer:
No, the tickets were quite expensive. I saw anywhere from $100-300, though the concerts each lasted for a long time and showcased many bands.

My guess is that the proceeds went to pay for the setup of the concert.
I wonder if those tickets were made from trees?
Good luck finding out that info. I've been trying to find the financials for Live Aid from yrs ago to no avail. It probably goes to the DNC campaign fund.
