Think about this, the cold war era ends and the government has nothing to cast the fear over the people. Then all of a sudden this term global warming comes up and they jump on it. A few scientists start using it and now the people fear the planet is going to heat up so high that no one will be able to go outside and icecaps will melt and the ocean will double in size. Wouldn't you worry? The majority of the "scientists" who agree that global warming is occurring are on who's payroll? How about the environmental groups.
So yes, since 1989 environmental groups have doubled and contributions and quadrupled. I do not think that is a coincidence.
After Kerry lost the 04 election, a Democrat strategist stated that the environment would be a winner in 08. I don't have the quote and can't find it, but I remember it as thinking it was a losing strategy.
Boy was I wrong. I figured people were smarter than that, but I was wrong there too.

Because quite frankly that's a stupid belief which is insulting to scientists everywhere. Scientists do not make up data. If they did, they wouldn't be scientists for very long. Their falsification would be immediately discovered and they'd be fired from their positions and laughed out of the scientific community.
Maybe you should try to understand at least a little something about the issue and the science behind it before making such an ignorant claim. You'll look a bit less foolish that way.
They didn't. There is some evidence that global temperatures are increasing. There is clear evidence that CO2 levels are up. There is NO evidence that a causal relationship exists between them -- in either direction. It is a matter for legitimate concern, but notwithstanding all the noise, the jury is still out.

why venus is hotter than mercury although mercury is much closer than the sun? it is the hottest planet in our solar system. because venus has the thickest CO2 in the atmosphere that traps the hot air while mercury has no atmosphere. you can see this by reading million of astronomy books. its just like that. if earth co2 rise, then global temperatures increase. and you said they dont related? LMAO!

According to the best peer reviewed scientific literature it would require carbon dioxide emissions to be cut world wide to less than one tenth of what they are today.
The only way that you can achieve that kind of a reduction is to enforce a world wide ban on the use of fossil fuels.
This would shut down industry world wide. It would shut down all transportation systems world wide.
You would have to blockade the ports of all of the oil exporting countries in the world to prevent them from exporting any oil..
You would have to physically prevent The People's Republic of China from burning any coal at all.
We cannot even handle Iraq. How would we enforce a bon on the use of fossil fuel by The People's Republic of China?
More recycling, buying hybrid cars, and turning out the lights are so trivial and insignificant they will not get you anywhere near the reductions that you need.

Yes, sea levels will rise, however the threatened countries can be protected by dike systems similar to those in Holand that hold back the sea.
Yes, hurricanes will be more frequent and they will be stronger. We will upgrade our disaster preparedness systems and we should help the poor countries upgrade their disaster preparedness systems.
Droughts will impact more areas around the globe. We will need to help poor countries with supplemental water systems and desalination plants.
Even though Golobal Warming cannot be stopped, unless we want to return to a hunter gatherer lifestyle, the effects of Global Warming can be mitigated very easily.

The sky isn't falling, you don't need to wring your hands and cry in fear. While doing things to cut down on energy usage will save you money, corporations will just get into the 'green' business. So here's another thought, since we know for a fact that cows contribute massive amounts of methane to the atmosphere, the best thing you can do is eat more beef! More burgers, more steaks, more red meat! Save the planet, eat a cow!
