Do you think jets flying in the upper atmosphere contributes to global warming more than anything else ?
Answer:
Yes, i believe so. Gallons and gallons of jet fuel are burned for each minute in the air, and are put directly in the atmosphere, instead of rising into it later.
I think every frequent flyer and airline crew member should purchase a Terrapass, (terrapass.com/flight) to make up for the c02 output they contribute to.
No. Not enough CO2 is released by jets to make a difference. In fact, humans contribute to less than 1/2 of 1% to global warming.
No, but I could be wrong.
Why would it be more damaging? They both still need to rise up. Considering the quantities of jet exhaust to other sources of CO2 is like... one to ten thousand, I'd have to say CO2 on the ground has more of an effect on climate, if it does have any appreciable effect.
This is in no way endorsement of the hoax that is global warming.
People need to realize that the air around your toes is "atmosphere". Everything gets released straight into the atmosphere.
Not more than anything else. Scientists are pretty good at measuring things and figuring out what's important by examining the hard numerical data. Not by using "logic".
They're a factor, but not among the biggest, which are generating power, operating ground transportation, heating/cooling buildings, and land use. Just not enough airplanes to compete with those.
It doesn't affect it more than anything else, but it definately effects it in larger quantities and more directly, because it is released straight into the atmoshpere. In other words, if we ban airplanes, we'd still have Global Warming.
no
