Global warming?

who here believes in global warming?
i think its a very catastrophic event and we should prevent it before its too late!

Answer:
i do. myself and a few friends started a environmental group at my high school. it was called Project TREE, and we competed in a state wide competition and got first in the environmental category. our aim was to enlighten the community of this forthcoming disaster, but due to our principal not cooperating, we are unable to continue the project. i agree with you, and we need to take action or it will be our kids that have to deal with the destruction of earth some day.
So was global cooling twenty years ago.. Still waiting for the next ice age to hit..
I agree. Have you seen the "Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore. It's better to be safe then sorry. Everyone should see that movie to prevent the worse from happening for the future of our children.
Virtually everyone acknowledges that global warming is happening. Some people dispute that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming, but the scientific evidence is very convincing that we are the primary cause.
Stop believing the "chicken little" people and do some research of your own. You will find that , while there is some climate change taking place, it's not catyclysmic (sp?) or catastrophic. It's simply the earth's climatic pendulum making some adjustments.

It's good to be concerned about the earth ( do things like reduce driving, recycle, turn off lights, etc...), but there is NOTHING we can do to stop, slow or reverse global climactic change.

Thirty years ago, the uproar and fear was over the coming Ice Age and overall global cooling. And here we all are now singing a different tune. In another 30 years, we'll be singing the "cooling" tune again.. Gee do you see a pattern here?

If you look back at the 60's and 70's, many of the so-called experts were predicting the end of life as we knew it due to polluted waters, acid rain, global cooling, radiation poisoning (nuclear power) and myriad other man-make evils.

Humans have a way of dealing with virtually every calamity thrown at us (natural and man-made). Stop worrying about things over which you have no control. Live clean, live green and enjoy what we have because it REALLY will be around for a LONG time!
Do you believe it because it's catastrophic? Would you believe it if burning fossil fuels were causing the appearance of unicorns and rainbows?

Accepting on faith is great if you are talking religion. Accepting because "everybody else" is doing it, is not a very good reason. Accepting that if a scientist says something, it must be right, is not always reason enough. Some of the best researchers in the world work for the FDA, but that does not mean that every new medicine is "safe".
i believe it because this year in the middle of november it was in the 70es and thats when it should ge cold and start to snow
right
I agree! I think we all need to do something. Watch Al Gore's movie! Also, read the book "True Green", it's very informative! I believe national geographic published it.
If you really believe switching off lights and cycling to work like a nerd will save the world then you're wrong.

The earth is going through a NATURAL phase of warming up, and no amount of eco-fools are going to stop it.

What makes you all so special that you can dictate what the rest of us have to do?
I like my big car and I like having lots of lights on at home. If you want to drive a silly little tin can on wheels and eat your food in darkness that's upto you, but I want no part of it.
