Can someone tell me where the trash goes after it is picked up by the garbage truck?
Answer:
land fills. miles upon miles of them. or sometimes it gets dumped in the ocean(ie.. NYC Garbage Scows) .
.. and now they are trying to find a way to justify sending it to outer space, ...Cause I guess we aren't happy enough just ruining our own little corner of the universe.
That's why we really need to make use of our recycling programs and look for alternatives to buying Over-Packaged Products when we do our shopping in the first place.
Into a dump.. and when that fills, they take another piece of land and fill it with our waste.
I suggest you try and recycle : )
That will help keep the Oceans clean.
The trash goes to the dump, where it usually bakes in the sun until full, at which time they cover the trash with soil to help speed decomposition and remove the eysore that it creates. What can be broken down is, and they often siphon off methane gas (a byproduct of decomposition) and sell it.
It depends on the city and state you live in as to how "green"
they are.
Some sort and recycle the glass, plastics, paper and Styrofoam. Hillsborough county Florida does. We sort into bins and a recycling truck picks up.
Other wise it goes to a land fill to be buried. Someday the young people of America will be living on old garbage dumps.
RECYCLING IS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY OF LIFE.
DO NOT ADD TRASH TO OUR STREETS AND BYWAYS.
IT GOES TO A LANDFILL..DOZERS COVER ALL THE TRASH WITH SOIL. AFTER SO LONG THEY MOVE TO ANOTHER SITE AND START THE PROCESS ALLOVER AGAIN.
After the truck collect the trash it simply dump it to a an area after it people over their use to differentiate between various trash and then they send it to respective recycling industries.
They go to dumps. Then when the dumps are full, they go to land fills which are ginormas holds in the ground && they stink up the place Yuck :]
To the dumping ground where it is left to rot, accumulate or whatever. Rag pickers will then come and take whats of recyclable use. Wet garbage is meant to be vermicomposted but I dont know if they actually do so.
most likely incinerate it or it goes into a landfill. if you call the waste disposal company I'm sure they would tell you.
