How environmentally friendly are u ??

i recycle plastic bottles,glass, paper,material,cans and tins
i also have a compost bin at the back of the garden and i am trying to find new ways to do more

wot do u do ?

Answer:
I have brought up my family to respect our environment. We recycle, plastic, aluminum, mulch our grass, compost our clippings, use reducers in the shower head and sink faucets, use energy saving light bulbs, buy low gas consumption cars, use fans through out the house to keep the a/c consumption low, feed jerks like the one that wrote to our dogs. Joking.
Everything above, except the compost bin.
You know what I'm gonna do?
I'm gonna get myself a 1967 Cadilac El Dorado Convertable
Hot pink!
With whale skin hub caps
An all leather cow interior
And big brown baby seal eyes for headlights
YEAH!
And I'm gonna drive around in that baby
At 115 miles per hour
Getting one mile per gallon
Sucking down Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers from McDonalds in the old-fashioned non-biodegradable Styrofoam containers
And when I'm done sucking down those grease-ball burgers
I'm gonna wipe my mouth with the American flag
And then I'm gonna toss the Styrofoam containers right out the side
And there ain't a Goddamn thing anybody can do about it
Well i recycle but thats about as much as i can do for know. Now i know everyone can' t be perfectly enviormeentally friendly for example i liter every once in a while, but i try not to.
I only smoke the finest organic hashish.
I also recycle plastic, tin, cans and reuse glass. I have a small herb garden and veggie garden in my back yard. I use natural homemade cleaning products for my home. I use recyclable paper products instead of styrofoam. On bright sunny days I line dry my clothes and I'm always trying to turn all lights off when not in use.
all of the above, but i would like to recycle cereal boxes, cracker boxes, etc. any info?
I recycle some materials, but not that much. Your totally an environmentally- friendly. Congratulations for that!!!
I teach children to be environmentally friendly. Hopefully they have gotten the message to love and protect our Earth.
your all gonna hate me but i really dont care. i do nothing. global warming is just climate change, it happens. sure ill recycle but thats it. i dont need to do anything thing else.
i could do more
i recycle and have the compost bin same as u but i wanna do more. i want to do more tho to help maybe ill join like an eco group or volunteer to pick up trash.
Recycle your clothes , establish a barter system, have a barter party
I recycle solar cells and make solar panels out of them I have a couple of pics in my blog showing how i do that really cheap and i run my home off them .. I got lucky and have a flat roof on my house and it gets really hot up there and i found 3 black plastic gas tanks that came off of cars in the alley that somebody dumped . So i put them on my roof ran my hoses to them in and out they have electric fuel pumps in them and work great for pumping water to and ran a small line to my shower . They work great best free hot shower i ever took . Its amazing what a little imagination and junk can do .

My next project is a wind mill using old car parts pipes a bicycle wheel and a few other things that i found in the junk. I may have to buy parachute material to use for the sales .

All in all to me its all fun and keeps me out of the bars but i do drink a good cold Budweiser once in awhile
These are some of the things I do on a regular bases.

I recycle glass, plastic, newspapers, cardboard, tin,

I donate what I do not use anymore to thrift stores - and I also shop thrift stores. When I do buy new clothes, I try to buy chemical free, organic material.

I grow my own food and use a compost bin and a worm bin and try to buy locally grown food.

I wash clothes less with an enviormentally approved soap and air dry them,

I buy or make my own enviormentally friendly cleaning products.

I make my own personal care products and herbal remedies

I reuse envelopes, check out books/read magazines from the library (instead of buying) or if I do buy, go to used bookstores, and CD/DVD shops,

I open windows (instead of using the a/c), I dress in layers in the cooler months, I keep my home at 65 degrees during the winter, cuddle up with blankets,

I drive less, combine errands, or changed the places I shop, to be closer to home, so I can walk to them (like the grocery store - I take a back pack or pull a wagon) and I try to use canvas bags or reuse bags when shopping.

I also have all the light bulbs changed to energy savers, and use rechargable batteries. My clocks and watches are wind ups.

Every little bit helps - and sharing ideas encourages others to persue the path of green living!
I had made a club known as 'green world clean world' with my friends and we will be spreading awareness among the people about harmful effects of plastics even we will be collecting plastics from the trash canes and from the side of rivers.
recycle and also changing our incandescent bulbs to CFL's
Not as much as I ought to, but I do drive around in a 2005 Kia Rio, which gets 35mph EPA,it can go up to 110 mph, since it's such a small car anyways, choke on that ;Mr. 1967 cadillac boy.Does that help?
I recycle, I ride my bicycle to and from work, I buy organic when possible, I conserve water when shaving and showering, ohhh, and I am vegetarian, which many people hate to admit is very, very much less polluting than a meat based diet.
i recycle all of the above mentioned items. and i also am a wastewater chemist.i find ways to remove harmful chemicals and dibris from industrial process waters to keep the earth's water supplies free of toxins! keep up the good recycling effort. the best way to recycle is to spread the word to other people!
Nothing. It is mankind's arrogance to think that we will destroy the planet. It was here before us and it will be here long after we are gone
N.O.Y.B. - I'll be found hanging out with vrrooomer and M.C. !
GET FLOURESCENT LIGHT BULBS!

keep the house colder in the winter and warmer in the summer. just wear extra layers and open the windows!

use flyers, envelopes, ect. as scrap paper. don't buy stuff you don't need.

be organic! my mom even buys organic shampoo and conditioner.

don't use paper bags for lunch; use a lunch box.

put a brick in your toilet to use less water!

turn off the lights if you're going to leave the room for more than a few minutes. i'm pretty sure turning a light on costs more than turning it off...

reuse old bottles; all you have to do is refill them!

don't buy too many books; go to the library instead. saves paper!

buy stuff with recycled packaging. buy in bulk; uses less packaging.

don't buy cheap stuff that just falls apart on you; it's just one more thing to throw away.

plant stuff native to your area in the garden.

drive a hybrid; my science teacher has a toyota prius. carpool! walk/bike places if you can help it. or take the bus/subway.

get appliances that have the energystar symbol in them; my computer does!

don't litter.

get solar panels if you can afford it.

that's all i can think of...
I've been driving only 4-cylinder cars since the late 80's. And I combine trips whenever possible.
I've begun switching to fluorescent bulbs each time an old incandescent bulb burns out. I turn out the lights and the computer when not in use.
I recycle my soda cans at work. My home municipality is rural and doesn't offer recycling, however.
Since I'm single, I use the microwave or the toaster oven, rather than the regular oven.
I bring my own lunch to work; it's much cheaper than eating out anyway.
Tell farmers about sustainable farming ,water harvesting and organic pest control,
Talk to kids about Environmental awareness
I have made a lot of gardens
I answer in yahoo
I have planted thousands of trees by now
And i have worked for 30 years +
develloping eco tourism ,and selfsustainable human and animal environments.
And send this message a lot and
------------------------------...

-
global warming cannot be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad
-----------------------------.
The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods

Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio
Have citizan meetings
Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,

If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,

We have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)
than your efforts are a waste of time.

That is what we do in Mexico

POSITIVE ACTIONS
Print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)

Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash

70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .
And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground

And it is the easiest to take care of
o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid

If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell
the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .

If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,

Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist

This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

If you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

Reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

The capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

The world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

The protection of existing forrests.

Stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

Education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

Education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´population

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

More environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

More dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

Alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

Recicling wastes,limit water use
