Can i put plastic bags(like from a grocery store for example)in the recycling bin?
Answer:
u should be able to. our grocery stores here have recycling bins for plastic bags right outside the stores
You'll have to call the company that does your recycling. Ours won't let us.
yes it's plastic
yes of course. Those bags are prob allready recycled.
you can...don't know if they'll recycle though.
Yes you can
Palstic bags are difficult to recycle, but in many cases you can bring plastic bags back to your local supermarket and they have bins where they are collected and taken for recycling with other bags. But if you want to help the environment, get some reusable bags and bring them shopping with you. They will last for years and years.
no when you go to the grocery store their is a place to put the bags in
Yes, and most grocery stores have bins out front to recycle them in.
Just because half the answerers say you can doesn't mean you can. People throw all kinds of unrecyclables into recycle bins because they think they can.
Plastic bags can be recycled, but your local sanitation department might not recycle them. Check with your local sanitation. Throwing in something they don't accept doesn't get them to recycle it, and it makes extra work.
Actually my trash collection company does not allow those plastic bags. Of course it depends on which fellow is picking up the trash that day as to what is taken and what is left in the recycle bin.
Most recycling pick-ups will not take plastic bags, try contacting your grocery store to find out if you can bring them back to the store for recycling.
Every WAL-MART--yes I know "evil"--has a bin at the front.
You don't have to buy anything, you can just drop off all the old plastic bags. Of course, I can't guarantee they don't burn them, because apparently some of the curbside recycling programs do that with all the mixed paper. But I doubt it, plastic actually has some value (not much but some).
You should be able to, they are marked with the "recycle logo". If this is not allowed your local Wal-mart has bins just for these plastic bags. Also there is a program at schools where they have the same Wal-mart collection bins and money is raised for the most amounts collected for example 1st,2nd, 3rd places it more than $3000.00 dollars for the grand prize. I cant think of a better way to motivate people, this is also a great way to contribute to the preservation of sea life who often mistake these plastic floating bags as jellyfish, and die.
No point. Just store them and reuse them. Do the same with paper bags.
You are doing a good job. At least here we can do it. I have read an article saying on average , each person goes through 134 plastic bags a year - or one every 2.7 days. Here it would be equivalent of 323 bags per household . Yes, we have to cut back on the waste which we send to landfill sites and reuse or recycle as much as we can. You do your bit and that is very nice of you . Do you know how long it takes for a plastic bag to decompose ? A hundred years!Waste is a growing problem , costing us all dear. Why not buy and use alternative packing crates or bags which can be re- used? I do.
