The ultra violet rays really aren't causing the heat-that's an entirely different issue. The ultra-violet light comes in three types A, B, and C. The A and B get through our atmosphere and burn our skin-tanning us. The C can literally kill us, but it is blocked by our atmosphere. The answer? Keep our atmosphere healthy and balanced and wear sunscreen.
Not at this point in time, but it can burn our skin and damage our eyes.
UV from our Sun will not destroy the Earth...but it could effect life on Earth (including us).
if it wasn't for the ozone layer, blocking most of the UV-c light, then yes it would. Ironically its reactions with oxygen is also responsible for the Ozone layer.
i think there is no heat derived from uv's but rather from the infra red rays from the sun.
uv's can destroy this world, and it already had started, many vegetation's growth are now affected, more humans as well as animals are having skin sores or cancers from sun's exposures, more are now blinded by the uv's.
preventions? the banning of cfc's in coolers, hairsprayers, fire extinguishers, production of styrofoams that destroys the ozone layers that filter out the bad a,b,c uv.s have been implemented decades ago.
i don't know about the other uses of chorine that science may have to analyse that is primarily the ozone layer destroyer in the cfcs.
