The earth's climate and temperature is always changing. It has been much warmer and much cooler than present. Over the last relatively stable 10,000 years, the earth's temperature has swung from about 2.5*C above and below the current temperature. See the attached study.

There IS a difference between "global" and "local".
In my part of the world, we had one of the mildest winters on record followed by a record-hot Spring.
If you want to understand "Global Climate Change" you have to look at "Global" trends.

the temperature has varied around the world here in Britain the spring was the driest on record. But the average temperature is taken over the whole year so such events as this may have little effect on the overall climate but it is a fact that the world is warming
For the same reason that when there was the threat of global cooling in the 70's we had heat waves, had droughts out west and saw all those bloated cows on the side of the road who died looking for water.
Because global warming is not about day-to-day weather patterns. It is caused by building up a blanket of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that over the long term let less heat escape, hence slowly and very gradually increasing air and surface temperature.
If you knew anything about global warming you would know that it creates much colder weather. The oceanic current does not bring tropical air up the coast anymore. The actual warming is melting the ice and desalinizing the ocean. When this occurs the fresh water interferes with the current. Fresh water sinks because its heavier than salt water, when there is too much fresh water the convection ceases and whala cold climate due to global warming.
Just because it may be a cold spring or a very hot summer doesn't mean that global warming is a hoax. Global warming refers to the Global average tempature witch only varies world wide by a few degrees. If the global average tempature went up or down three degrees in a two year period, it could mean the difference of either another ice age or a drought of devestating proportions. The short term effect of what is happening right now is that plants and animals environments are getting ruined. If nothing is done the lives of people are next to get effected.

Well seeing how we have only been tracking those records for a little over a hundred years.I would say its not.
Glaciers have been retreating for a long time.I mean they used to come all the way down into Indiana,Ohio,Michigan.All the great lakes were carved out by glaciers.
Global warming is a another myth.Government trying to scare you so they can tax us on more stuff.
A real problem would be the destruction of the rain forests.That would be a main concern.
But of course, seasonal variation and annual extremes are not what we are talking about in regards to global (emphasize GLOBAL) climate change. Some areas may get colder, some may have more snow (for example, in response to more ocean evaporation from warmer oceans) but there is now good evidence for recent worldwide, long-term warming. Short term cycles are the noise.the long term cycles are of more interest here.
There is actually good evidence that we would normally have been headed for a long-term cooling cycle and another period of glaciation but we are temporarily holding it off by liberating long-term stored CO2 that would not normally be in the atmosphere expect for humans digging it out and putting it up there. Don't worry, as soon as the oil/coal is used up (few hundred years.nothing to speak of geologically) the earth will get back on track towards the next period of glaciation.
