If everyone in the UK stopped buying fuel, what would happen?
Answer:
If the UK stopped buying fuel, it becomes less of a commodity and Bush will realize he doesnt need the oil control to influence UK policies, pull out of the war and the world is happy happy joy joy
we would all be paying extra tax for push bikes
this would never happen asking some folks to give up their cars is like asking them to stop eating
Well the people in the motorway service stations would not have a job, and the price of horses would go up/
there would be alot of people out of work and the government would be desperately trying to work out how to get lots of tax fromus in a different way.
ANARCHY!
it would be funny to see the government people not going in their cars around uk. also the conucils would have to stop their transport to bikes and walking with lawn movers. also who would collect rubbish and wot in??
Most of us would starve to death, because the lorries that bring the food to our local supermarkets (the ones we walk to) wouldn't be able to make their deliveries. Not that it would matter as we wouldn't be able to go to work and earn the money to buy the food.
If we stopped buying petrol because there was none left it might lead to the long overdue development of the electric car. That would do more good for the environment than restricting the use of petrol cars.
Yeah the economy would go bust.
What you need is a hydrogen economy, then it doesn't matter how far you drive.
The answerers above make good points about the chaos that would occur if we stopped buying fuel and gave up our cars, but, given the dangers of global warming, it would be worth it, wouldn’t it?
Well, would it?
The UK accounts for just 2 per cent of global emissions, and falling. Even if Britain stopped using energy altogether (not just cars), global temperature by 2035 would be six thousandths of a degree C less than if we carried on as usual. So that’s a reduction of 0.006°C.
And that’s assuming that the global warming alarmists’ climate models are correct in their hypothesis of the effects of CO2 on temperature – and that’s a big assumption.
Well, that’s me convinced – I’m selling my car right now!
NOT!
All of the above - also I believe that pension companies invest heavily in oil companies. so that's pensions gone out the window as well ... It's all a very difficult and complicated problem
life as we mean will be less qualitative.
That is a very good question. The US did that one time and was able to drive down gas prices the UK should try.
nothing happens
When Gordon Brown takes over it will be chaos
give it a few more years,, and i guess were gonna find out..
I think we should do it and all go on strike altogether, that would make our moronic government panic, Their biggest concern is the state of our economy, they don't actually care about the people or global warming (not that it's happening) they care only about the UK bank balance
