Most counties now have some recycling points for yellow pages and other telephone directories.
Some school are collecting them. Why not ask some schools if they want it.

I put mine in the red box the council gave me and they seem to go. If your bin men won't take them put them in the big paper bins you see at the supermarkets. Or you could just put them on the council door step.

So it worth asking any schools in your area if they are doing the same.
Other than that most Tesco stores have an area that they recycle paper , cans glass bottles etc.

Funny g*ts, you know what bin men are like. Throw it in the normal bin they won't know when it's covered in potato peelings and tea bags.

Instead of recycling, you could also reuse it. Yellow Pages books are great toys for rabbits to play with. They love digging in them and ripping them to shreds. If you don't have a pet rabbit see if there are any rabbit rescues or shelters that would appreciate it. Some even put them on wish lists along with cardboard tubes from toilet paper or paper towels, and cardboard boxes.

Unless you're in a different country than me (US), the Yellow Pages and newspapers are printed using non-toxic soy ink. Many large rabbit rescues and rabbit educators recommend Yellow Pages and newspaper as safe, appropriate toys. I'm sorry if you've had a problem, but it likely was not caused by the inks currently used.

Oh my god, dont give it to a rabbit! animals should not be given paper with ink on it cus its toxic too them. i speak from experience
there are special bins for yellow pages and phone books in selective places, other wise i don't see why you can't sed it back to yellow pages and let them deal with it, i'm pretty sure that they now have a duty of care towards the enviroment
GREAT QUESTION. Due to the bulk and weight of the yellow pages, the yellow pages themselves have started a recycle programme. You must collect about 10, 000, 000 copies and take them to Seville in Spain. They will give you a time share apartment and a plate of paella.
It takes me ages, but along with all my other paper stuff I shred them and when I have several bin liners full I take them all over to an animal shelter for use as bedding. (It's amazing how many phone calls I've received from old mares!)
