Why can't we get rid of mosquitoes ( totally wipe them out )?
Answer:
We aren't trying to "totally wipe them out". We as a people haven't really been in the business of wiping out species, at least not at this point in our history, and even when it has happened in the past, I don't think it was necessarily occurring because we intended to wipe various species out (that did get eliminated). It's just not a good idea to eliminate a species that may be a nuisance to us without thinking of the repercussions to us and other species that may be caused because of it.
Dunno! (3 points)
I think they play a part in pollination of some plants/flowers. also some animals use them as a food source, so ultimately ud be wrecking a life cycle and those surrounding it just for the conveniences of man.. which is pretty selfish.
We can not get rid of mosquitoes for our untreated sewage, accumulation of Garbage, irresponsibility of the people, failures of Govt. policies.and above all lack of awareness of the common people.Mosquitoes breed in dark, dirty, stagnant water--We can control them but we are unable to destroy them totally.
The bats wouldn't be happy.they LOVE skeeters!
Actually we cant they help to maintain the population level in the world by spreading diseases and killing many people( I Do Feel Sorry for those who have been killed).
Do you know a fact In Africa People are being killed by Insects rather than getting killed by wild animals or human beings.
because once we get close to having them all killed some sick little prick in California will start screaming and put them on the endangered list.
Mosquitoes are reported to have been around on this planet for millions of years, as compared to the less than one millon for our species. "Totally wiping them out" would therefore be a hard act to pull off. Another point in favour of their durability is their short breeding period of about 14 days, which makes them easily adaptible to even major environmental changes. Mosquitoes breed generally in filthy and unhygienic environments, at least as far as human settlements are concerned, and efforts and the huge resources that would be needed to "totally wipe them out" could be better spent cleaning up, which would actually keep them at bay. Finally, we should always have at the back of our minds the fact that this planet was not created just for the sole habitation or comfort of humans, but for all creatures as well. We can "demarcate" territory and keep unwanted creatures away from there by observing cretain basic rules (like cleanliness for example), but to think of wiping out other creatures just for our comfort and ego would be contrary to nature and therefore in the long long run detrimental to ourselves.
Before you should even consider the question you would have to know how removing the various species -- in the United States alone, there are 150 different species -- would impact other species who depend on mosquitoes and mosquito larvae for food.
Wear long sleeves, apply a product with DEET when outside, and make sure you and your neighbors aren't inadvertently providing breeding habitat in your yards.
Aside from the practical considerations, there isn't any point in trying to wipe them out. Some other insect would evolve to take their place.
