Do you think that we can actually save the planet?

or am I just whistling dixie out my butthole trying to make a difference?

Answer:
think about it
actually saving the planet is a collective effort
kind of like voting
if every youth in america just said "my little vote isnt gonna make a difference" then no change would be made in america politically
if everyone had that mentality it would just not work.
If everyone on this earth reduced one minute off of their shower..do you know how much water would be conserved?
and if everyone used fluorescent lights do you know how much electricity would be conserved?
So basically, if youre gonna do it.spread the word.
be a messenger. and then pretty soon, there will be some momentum in this effort.
if america participated more then maybe...
using up most of the worlds resources...ha..wat for..the swine
I think we can definetely make a big difference to the future of the planet. To me the question is, what kind of a difference will it be?
Since it is impossible for us to destroy it, why would we need to save it?
in the great scheme of things "NO",..man kind contributes only about 2% of the green house gasses,..Mt. Pinatubo, released more green house gasses in the one eruption than all man kind did in the last 60 years,..but there are people out there who want to scare you, so they can get bigger government, and have more control over you,..those people are using global warming for the promotion of socialism
In the short term of looking at it ? No.
In the long term of looking at it? Yes !! I do mean long term in that sense. If we started right now with with all Eco friendly cars, power plants, etc. and no oil burning products what so ever we can turn around our environment in about 100 years or so, give or take a decade. But that won't happen any time soon. We are too dependent on oil right now. It is going to take probably close to 50 to 75 years before we lose that dependency for oil. So by that time you compound all those extra years of still using oil, we might be beyond the point of damage. If we aren't, it would probably more than likely take about 500 years at least before the earth would repair itself and that my friends is pretty sad.
The latter. We'll be old or dead at the point the earth dies so meh
We can stop continuing to damage the planet. We may never have our planet back in pristine shape, but we can clean it up and make it liveable again. We can continue to advocate for more environmentally friendly measures and practices. We can live "greener" lives and set an example for others to follow.
I think that we could make an impact...but not a very big one. Too many people are careless and wont even put their garbage in the cans...let alone recycle. Sad but true.
Honey, the real question is this: can we save humanity? this planet, was here long before we arrived, and unless a large sphere from space explodes our planet, it will be here long after we are gone. According to scientists, our planet began with a fiery and gaseous start, cooling until the vapors caused condensation to form, which in turn brought the rain which brought more cooling, and then it became a planet of frozen ice. This planet is constantly changing, and it will kill off whatever destroys it, as it evolves. Didn't dinosaurs once roam this earth? Everyone claims that the poles are melting, and that we are killing our planet, I think this is normal for this planet we call home. It has periods of intense heat, and periods of intense cold, and in between these periods, there are abundant forms of life, just maybe not human forms. The planet is covered by water at the moment, at least approx. 70%, and do you not find it amazing, that the human body also is approx. 70% water.
The important question should be, does the planet need saving? It did fine long before us through ice ages and global warming...it'll be here long after us. It isn't the planet that needs saving, it's US that needs saving. Noone can do that but us and we are, collectively (NOT individually) too ignorant, self-centered and greedy to do that. But it'd be nice if we could.
What did you want to save the planet from?
Global warming?
Global cooling?
Holes in the ozone layer?
Pollution in the landfills?
Poor water quality?
Strip mining?
Toxins found in our soils?
Deforestation?
Other ills?
Of course we can. We overcome all sorts of obstacles. We take down tyrants(like Hitler), we've gone to the moon, and we've even harnessed atomic energy.

If there's one thing that humans can do, it's persevere. This is the new Hitler, the new Moon, the new Atomic bomb, it's the new obstacle we must overcome to grow as people.

So of course we can make a difference, it's what we do.
I would say yes, but if w don't help out all of us even the slightest then, and if we keep polluting more years into the future, then no, that simple.
first that would be cool if you could do that. yes we can.
only if the human species moves to another planet soon enough. then that way we could spread our form of destruction throughout the galaxy
You are helping. Keep doing what you're doing & more will come around to help. If anything you can cut down on your bills, and save money everywhere you look.
Try to help people get on board by letting them know the ways they can cut down on their bills. Show them proof with your bills, and before you know it you have them completly on board, recycling, composting, reusing everything in sight.Don't give up. There is so much you can do to help our environment. It will just take a while to get more on board. Be patient. You're not wasting your time.
Yes I believe so !
