Why is Nancy Pelosi asking a question about Global Warming?
Answer:
"Why is Nancy Pelosi asking a question about Global Warming?"
Because she has been watching too much of Al Gore!
No, Seriously, I saw her question today and wanted to respond, but we are blocked from work. Congress has their priorities all mixed up. "Global Warming", bah, it's a natural trend, just like Ice Ages -- research it.
Fix Social Security first. Get our Troops out of the Mid-East, expel Illegal Immigrant on the spot, don't throw them in jail where WE, the US tax payers foot the bill while they sit there.
Fix the Darned pot-holes in DC. Stop paying farm subsidies, and let let the farmers grow and charge what they have to.
Regulate Big Oil Companies that have made Billions in profits in the last few years, and continue to raise gas prices.
This Government has its priorities in "pork spending" and BS. This "Global Warming" crap should not even be a bill worth wasting time on.
Pelosi's out of her head, she trying to go "nucular" on GW Bush, and that is her only goal.
mw
left wing politics my man.
congress simply ran out of ideas and a political figure can use 8,000 more brains to get ideas
Why should you question a good thing, done by a leader?
If it is a good thing, let us all contribute... by doing it, We are not harming anyone, aren't we ??
If a Leader(social, entertainment idol, anyone, etc) works for a good cause, let it be praised, encouraged. Let the good pass and prosper.
because she cares ,and she is very concerned with our well being
Because she is a liberal and so is Yahoo. The number of liberals versus conservatives asking questions is overwhelming.
She is not,her aide did. She does not have time for this puny website. Just trying to get more fans.
to lead all you sheep over the socialist cliff
She wants to see how far Americans are willing to go to fight global warming.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure she is jumping on Gore's wagon of non-scientific deceit for whatever political gain she can get.
Ah we see how your type thinks now...
a waste of tax-payer money for a elected representative to ask what their constituents think. hmm dumb 'ol me, i thought that is how a democracy was suppose to operate.
and herself going through all the answers, probably not, that is what subordinates are for.
Global Warming isn't as much of a scientific issue as it is a political one.
She is measuring public sentiment so she does not overplay her hand.
15,000 answers sounds like a lot, but I expect they are only being skimmed for superficial content: all the various ideas will be tablulated.and a pareto chart will show how many times people suggested various ideas.
Everyone complains that their voice is never heard in the government. Here is our chance. True, interns will certainly have to narrow the responses, but since they are unpaid it is hardly a waste of taxpayer money.
because she is stupid
gncyguy.. I vote for leaders, not people who see which way the political wind blows before setting their agenda. If the science is so solid, then her job should be clear. And uh, we are a representative Republic, not a Democracy.
She was asked too?
I am guessing she was approached to ask such a question to build interest in the environment and so she approved a question being asked in her name.
It is good for Yahoo and it doesn't hurt her either.
It is in fashion to care about global warming. It is the cause du jour. Just like drunk driving and the homeless were causes, which I think are much more important!
to get more famous because she is seen with the likes of US,
and to gage some sort of public response .
Because the Democrats aren't capable of coming up with any real policies so instead they latch on to the latest fad. Believing the likes of Pelosi and Al Gore on global warming is like taking your whole belief system from someone like Dr. Phil.
I respect scientists, but like any other occupation, some are definitely better than others. And for every scientific theory a scientist proposes, there will be just as many scientists who will say the exact opposite.
The weather may indeed be changing but nature has a peculiar habit of doing that.
And for anyone who believes that global warming is the most imminent threat to our existence just has to come and live in Canada for a couple of winters. They may just change their minds.
Brilliant! Bring the message to the people rather than lobbyist & media pollsters.
Legislators are supposed to work for the people. They're supposed to shape legislation based on what the people believe in, care about, and want.
If she actually is reading the responses (even if it's through an aide) then good! She's getting first hand information from the people she's supposed to represent.
That's much better than forming opinions and shaping laws based on abstract polls, don't you think?
