well, here's the thing. global warming might be happening. okay. but, i think the argument is more over who is to blame, if anyone, for its occurance. and if we accelerated it, well that's just great too but, if it was going to happen in the first place, unpreventable...if this is just going to happen on its own, what are we to do about it? hope to delay the inevitable with better fuel economy? really? i'm sorry, bring me a better plan than that.

the officials from The People's Republic of China were very offended and stated very clearly that not only would they not reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, but they would have to increase them in order to keep their economy going.

The People's Republic of China alone has enough carbon dioxide emissions to cause Global Warming and Global Climate Change, even if you reduce all of the other carbon dioxide emissions world wide to zero.
More recycling, buying hybrid cars and buying cfls will not get you anywhere near the reductions that you need in carbon dioxide emissions to stop Global Warming.
Instead we must focus on what we must do to mitigate the effects of global Warming and Global climate Change.
The sea levels will rise. Fortunately the coastal areas can be protected from flooding by the use of dike systems simiar to those in Holland that are used to hold back the sea.
Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. We need to help the affected countries upgrade their disaster preparedness systems
Droughts will become more frequent. We need to help the affected countries with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.
We cannot prevent Global Warming and Global Climate change, but we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming and Global Climate change if we start now.

Well actually both chemtrails and global warming hoax are conspiracy theories. Thus people who believe these fall into the same category. They don't believe the facts about either contrails or anthropogenic global warming.

Everyone who has something to win or lose has their own scientists putting out reports and warnings that contradict, depending upon who financed their research. In the long run, it boils down to confuddling everyone so that it is yet another diversionary tactic between people, another problem that no one can agree on, therefore little is done. And yes both are real.
I saw a report on the news the other day of a major city in China. You could not see ten feet ahead the pollution from business and autos was so terribly thick. It will not matter how much anyone tries until such greed and lack of care for the consequences is addressed. India has been making great strides to clean the air of their major cities. Indeed children are actually drawing pictures with blue skies again! (not a joke, they thought grey was the natural colour of the sky in parts of Dehli.)

I had never heard of "Chem-trails" till you mentioned them, it sounds like more bunk. I have been a world traveler since I was an infant, I have seen millions of contrails in my life time and I can honestly say that is the STUPIDEST conspiracy theory I have heard next to the 9/11 "inside job" hog wash.

Global climate change is real, but I can show you historical, archaeological and geological proof that dramatic climate shifts have been happening since the beginning of time.
there is even a written recorded event known as "the little ice age" that occurred from around 1300ad-1800ad. Temperatures dropped suddenly and dramatically in the matter of a few short years. Crop failures, out breaks of plagues and disease and wars fought for resources. And this was BEFORE the industrial revolution.
Just to give you an example of how dramatic the climate had changed, prior to 1300ad Britain had a wine industry to rival France, after 1300 no grapes would grow in England until just this last century.
Is Climate change real? yes, but history has some pretty strong evidence that it is probably a part of a larger cycle.
Are we as humans affecting climate change? possibly in some small ways yes. But it is egotistical and ignorant to think some how we are completely to blame for changing weather patterns.
Smart people do not believe in Chem-trails and are skeptical of most of the hype about global climate change.
