How can you opt out of receiving phone books?

There are telephone numbers in the front of the books. Drop them a line rather than phoning if you can. Sometimes they keep sending you them.
If you get them from several different providers don't forget to copy your letter and send them to each one.
It is great that you are taking the time to do this.
I'd find their customer service number on the inside of the cover and let them know you don't want anymore - they must have some kind of list they keep there I would hope.
I have no idea about opting out, but we can show people online versions such as Switchboard or the online YellowPages.
Well, it is not exactly antiquated just yet...
We don't all have access to or own computers or cell phones...
My computer keeps crashing and it is hard to afford a new one...
I keep getting the old one fixed...
My phone service is ok I suppose...
I do not use the phone all that much, but if an emergency came up, I would sure be glad I had it to use to call police or firefighters or an ambulance...
I also get too many phone books myself, but I do live on the edge of my city, and I get phone books from the adjoining city as well...
I think you might have a good idea in the works, but what would happen when people moved and new tenants moved in and now that address didn't get a phone book?
People move all the time and it is hard to get a phone book in the middle of a year...
Also folks on vacation or sick leave at the phone company would have new people carry phone books out to homes and apartments that didn't know who put in a request to not have a phone book delivered there...
How would we deal with all the folks that move from one place to another?
I agree that it antiquated, but sometimes if I forget the name of a place, I can find it, maybe someday (hopefully soon) we will have postcards mailed to us with a space you could check off to receive a phonebook if you need one.
