In a nutshell, the globalists running the world's economies want a global tax to fund the UN's initiative to one day adopt a global currency and years from now, move to a one world government with the UN being to world's governing center.

I do love the idea of all people coming together in a common good cause but this green house gas one is deliberately misdirected. We really can’t cool the sun with a “carbon tax”. Good non biased science pegs mans total contribution to global warming at no more than 6% total. From this if we do manage to trim a couple of % points off of our total it will have virtually “No effect”! Even if we stopped all “green house gas” production the small effect it would have would take many years to be measured. We need to all come together and fight pollution of all kinds and in particular big corporate and government pollution! I am talking about things like the tons of depleted uranium that have entered our atmosphere and the tons of nerve gas compounds that have been dumped in the oceans. We should be working on renewable energy sources or at least ones that don't pollute. Things like fluorescent bulb replacement of incandescent types seem so good on the surface till you realize disposing of them cause’s mercury pollution!
The global warming scare is to get the worlds population to accept the UN as a global police force and to get the “carbon tax” installed world wide to fund them. They will be able to cross any border with impunity and punish anyone defying there directives. Soon enough this will be all their directives and we will be totally under a one world government we have no control over what so ever. Is this going to help “global warming”? Will this make our environment one bit more livable or sustainable? Don’t think for one minute they will do anything about the major polluters as this is the group that runs them!

Going green is trying to save the planet you idiot by using new things that will curb green house emissions and other toxins and gases that are going in to the upper atmosphere and depleting the ozone layer as well as the ice caps all over the world.

The short answer is that Al Gore wants to be president of the United States or failing that he wants some equally lofty position with some other organization.
By setting himself out to be the expet on Global Warming and having his media people generate a great deal of hype about the subject, he keeps himself in the public eye and puts himself in a position to take the Democratic nomination for president or, failing that, a position with the United Nations or some other world organization.
