Answer:
To stop Global Warming most scientists agree that we would have to cut carbon dioxide emissions world wide by at least 90%.
We could not get reductions in carbon dioxide emissions that large voluntarily. It would require military force.
Also reductions that large would require that we shut down all of the world economies and return to a rether primitive stone age hunter gatherer form of existence.
Essentially the cure is worse than the disease.
The alternative is to accept the fact that we cannot stop Global Warming and instead prepare to mitigate the effects of Global Warming.
The sea levels will rise. Fortunately we can protect low lying areas from flooding with dike systems similar to those in Holland.
Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. We will need to help the poor countries upgrade their disaster preparedness programs.
Droughts will become more frequent and widespread. We will need to help the affected countries with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.
We cannot stop Global Warming and Climate Change, but we can mitigate the effects at reasonable cost if we start now.
only you cant stop global warming but you can put your part in stopping it by using less electricity , water. I so many ads that talking about switching to new lights you can do that...

You don't have to worry about the "stupid global warming", it's the "smart" global warming that can silently stalk you and strike without warning. Fortunately, global warming's natural habitat is out in the daylight, so if you stick to the shade or go out at night, you should be relatively safe.
It's the global warming wrangler's that might get you, though...
Methane is worse than carbon dioxide for global warming so if you light your farts and convert the methane into carbon dioxide and water it may be helpful. It kills the stink too
Conservation! Use less of everything. Even if you can't single-handedly fix it, you will be an example for those around you. Just think of how those rings spread when you throw a stone in the pond.
We are already seeing the results of global climate change. The closer you are to the poles, the more obvious the changes are. In the mid-latitudes, the weather is experiencing wider swings--more record highs and lows. Statistically, it still looks average. I think the place to look when trying to assess the changes is to follow the money: Look at insurance claims for natural disasters, crop failures and the like. That would give a more accurate picture of what is going on.
