Why are we so concerned about global warming and forgetting what corportate pollution is doing to our health?
Answer:
I need to know where you are located to determine if what you are describing is from industrial pollution or is just something natural in the environment.
It is true that many types of pollution are very serious whether or not they also cause Global Warming.
A good example is the burning of coal. Most coal is contaminated with naturally occurring radioactive Uranium and Thorium.
The radioactive Uranium and Thorium go up the smoke stack with the fly ash and are concentrated in the ash remaining after the coal is burned.
The ash is often left out in the open on the ground. The ash contaminated with radioactive Uranium and Thorium blows and further contaminates the environment.
The primary reason that we must stop using coal is the contamination by radioactive Uranium and Thorium.
This can be life threatening. Recently one of my colleagues died of cancer. The cancer was of a type that is most often caused by exposure to radioactive materials, yet my colleague had no history of exposure to radiocative materials.
However my colleague had lived near a coal burning power plant for many years. We suspect the exposure to the ash from the power plant is where he received his exposure to radioactive elements.
Of course we need to do something about both.
But it is a fact that global warming actually is more threatening to our society. Toxic pollution affects some individuals. It's bad but many people go unscathed.
None of us will escape the economic devastation caused by global warming.
Are you so sure it's pollution and not some natural disease or other phenomena?
Otherwise, I agree that this global warming craze is drawing attention and resources from more important and REAL environmental problems.
the effects on our health really will not kick in until global warming kills us all. get ur priorities straight
Before some assumes global warming is man made explain why it is also on Mars.
The crux of the problem seem to be the Earth has warmed a few degree in a century. Excuse me if I don't trust temperature readings from 1907. After getting the temperature, they went to crap in the out house and then had the doctor apply a leach to stop the headache.
BTW, climate change is on Pluto too, but I can't find the link. Do you think maybe the output of the sun in its sunspot cycle might be the culprit?:)
its so easy for us to take things for granted and perhaps most of us wouldn't like to have a change even though we see a crisis in it.
Because it is the same thing ...
... and brown spots on your plants is more likely due to a bug or infection.
1,2,3 ... all three ... yes you are, Carlin was right!
