Global warming can occur naturally, but the recent acceleration in global warming is our fault.

As you can see they’re both rising – not with an 800 year delay, but at the same time. If CO2 wasn’t causing global warming as was the case in the past, then why is there no 800 year delay?

The reason we’ve concluded that greenhouse gas emissions are causing global warming (or more accurately, accelerating it) is because natural causes can’t account for the increase in global warming over the past 40-50 years. It's a natural occurance, it's what brought the previous ice ages. However this one's our fault, we are speeding up the process.

It is scientific fact that the earth heats and cools in cycles. "global warming" is a natural cycle of the earths lifespan. If we were in the middle of a catastrophe, like some posts implicate, why was Ireland and Greenland so much warmer 10k yrs ago?

For billions of years our Earth has naturally cooled and heated itself in cycles.
And because our record of the Earth's temperatures are relatively recent compared to the age of the Earth, how do we know that what we're experiencing isn't just a natural occurrence?
This is why global warming is a such a hotly debated topic. Basically, it is currently be used as a political scare tactic.
It's unfortunate with all the things we could be worrying about, we have let politicians point our gaze onto something that really is a non-issue at the moment.

Well... I heard that scientists are trying to find a way to stop cows from farting because that is what is causing the global warming!
I think it's the people's fault because people
smoke
run cars
litter
pollute the air
factors run
and other stuff to cause more carbon to go into the air and more green house gases to (the gas that's making the Earth hotter).
I don't know if the temps. of the Earth was hot 100 years ago I wasn't born then.

There is proof that the ice caps are melting and glaciers are retracting. There is proof that the desert is expanding.
Look at California, that place is on fire! There is fire all through out the west. You can watch the forests retract as the West dries up.
No one has proven that the flood waters will surge over major ports cities, but maybe that isn't something to be complacent about. You don't want to wait until NYC is underwater to do something.
Co2 gas (a greenhouse gas) is up and that is probably man made to an extent, but those wild fires put up a lot of CO2 as well.
I've heard the cows farting thing too and that is funny.

I see a lot of cats here talking about cars as the man made factor.. its not just cars.. its the industrial revolution. Coal used to be a major fuel source in the west, now that is the technology they use in the new industrial revolution in Asia. Its not just cars that have to get "greener", its the entire way of modern life that must change too... we must improve upon our previous inventions to preserve life as we know it on this planet.

Ok Trish the Dish im sorry to inform you but the earth has not been warming and cooling itself periodicly for billions of years, after the earths creation the earth has been cooling itself to livable temperatures. Temperatures have been randomly as high as they are now, but not nearly as high on a CONSISTANT scale as they are now.

If global warming continues at its current rate, The earths temperature will go back to the same temperature of the earth 50 million years ago when Dinosaurs were in Alaska, accept instead of giving time for change to occur naturally, it will be so quick because of our contribution that who knows what will happen.
we are the cause for global warming. eg., invention of automobiles - this cause air polution that leads to create a hole in the ozon layer , deforestation is another major reason.
It is definitely our fault because we are using up all our resources and polluting the atmosphere and I think wildfires are to blame to since wildfires release a lot of smoke into the atmosphere making the sun heat up the atomosphere cuasing higher temperatures throughout the world.
