There are loads of different building styles and types which are energy efficient, low cost and environmentally smart. Have you looked at Timber Pole Construction, Straw Bale Houses, Cobs, Earth Ships. Regular houses with better features from sustainable sources. freecycle.org is a website. Look into demolition jobs and see what they do with stuff. Buy odd lots left over from contractors.
For concrete: every now and again a concrete pouring copany will have a buyer request a load and then either not use it, or rejest it. You can get a huge discount if you are ready to take it on an extremely last minute deal.
go round housing estates where people are building and ask where you see items obviously been lying for a while if you could take them away for them at no cost to them ..again the same on building sites see the work foreman and he may have stuff he needs rid of or stuff to skip or in skips good luck hope it happens
