Are you taking Gore's 'Seven Pledges'?

If you're a supporter of Gore's CO2 agenda have you, or will you, take his 'Seven Pledges' and stick to them? As a supporter you're obligated to do so, so if you're not going to take the 'Seven Pledges' why not and doesn't that make you a traitor to the CO2 agenda?

Answer:
I will
1. But a 4x4
2. Fart as much as possible
3. Buy a herd of farting cows
4. Leave my TV on standby ( i would if it had standby mode, it is 30 years old
5. Leave the lights on for my dogs when I'm not home
6. Burn my copy of an inconvenient truth
7. Send the ashes of my burnt DVD to Al Gore
I'd have to be on the CO2 agenda to become a traitor. I'll make you and Al a deal...if he will take my seven pledges, I'll take his. Here are mine:
1.) Limit your method of travel to some means that gets a minimum of 35 mpg. If you can't find a jet that gets that kind of mileage, then you're limited to small, 2-4 place aircraft and unlta-lights.

2.) If the Global issue is so important to you, show us by speaking for free. You don't need the money anyway.

3.) Reduce your impact on the land. This means one house with no more than 1000 sqare feet of heated floor space per person.

4.) Convert your home to solar heating.

5.) Convert your home to a grid-tied solar electric system. Produce more than you use.

6.) Find a minimum of three like minded people and share ownership of a car.

7.) Being the godfather of global warming comes at a price. If you want me to do these things, I'll jump when you do.
I'm waiting to see what action Al takes himself on pledge number 4: "Work for a dramatic increase in the energy efficiency of my home, workplace, school, place of worship, and means of transportation." A few months ago, someone looked up the utility bills for Gore's house and found out that his house uses TWENTY times the energy of the average American home.

I don't care if he uses "carbon offsets" or uses electricity generated by burning non-carbon emitting fuels; that's way too much energy use. Nineteen other homes could be using that energy instead of the coal-fired power sources they're using now if he weren't hogging all that power.

I've just been watching "An Inconvenient Truth," and there are an awful lot of scenes in there where he is shown flying in airplanes and taking gas guzzling cabs to the airport. Would it kill him to take an airport shuttle where he wouldn't be the only passenger? From the size of him, I would say he could stand to let his Prius sit in the driveway once in a while and get on a freakin' bicycle.

I live in an apartment with no air conditioning and frequently take the bus or bike to work. I can't afford a hybrid, but I recently downsized from a car with a 2.5 liter 4 to one with a 1.8 liter 4. Let's see Al Gore match that.

I think the most important part is pledge 4, because it involves personal sacrifice. It also shifts the market in the right direction. If people are committed to driving fuel efficient cars, then car companies will make fuel efficient cars to meet that demand. If people start putting solar panels on their houses, companies will compete to provide those solar panels, and they will begin to become more affordable, as will more efficient appliances and water heaters, etc.

If we want other countries to take us seriously about the need for a dramatic reduction in carbon emissions, we need to make sacrifices in our own lives that will match our high-sounding words.
Great answer 55spud!
Among the pledges that Al Gore called for is a pledge to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of the developed countries by 90% and the undeveloped countries by 50%

In the developed countries the only way that we could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 90%, that is one tenth of what they are today is if everyone in the developed countries were to assume a primitive stone age hunter gatherer type of existence.

We would have to ban all motorized forms of transport. We would have to ban all use of automobiles, motor scooters, motorcycles, buses, trucks, trains, planes and shipping.

We would have to ban all manufacturing, steelmaking and cement making.

Next we would have to ban the heating and air conditioning of all homes, offices, and factories.

Next we would have to ban the generation of all electricity by the use of fossil fuels. In most countries of the world including the United States that would mena that we would have to shut down the generation of most of our electricity.

France of all countries would be the exception. France generates over 80% of its electricity using nuclear power.

Next we would have to ban the cooking of all food and the heating of all water for washing and bathing.

We would have to learn to bathe in cold water.

Politically we could never get voluntary cooperation world wide.

We could only achieve this amount of a reduction in the amount of carbon dioxide production by the use of military force.

the world would become a very nasty brutish place.
I'm curious if the ACLU will fight the posting of the Seven Pledges in courtrooms and other government buildings.

Where will I confess and receive absolutions for breaking any of these pledges? Will part of my penance be watching "An Inconvenient Truth?"

The Faithful need to know...
The whole show was just that "A SHOW". Look at the CO2 impact these brainiacs had while promoing this scam! Jets, limos, etc. Did anyone even think about a staduim that uses renewable sources of energy, hello.
Al Gore is a hypocrite.
As an alternative, I have adopted TAGP(tm).
