Just how far are you willing to go?
Answer:
I want to be just like that jackass, Al Gore. Go around telling everybody how they have to cut back on everything they use, scare us all into believing that global warming will have all the people in the middle of the country owning ocean front land in a few years, and buy Carbon Credits from underdeveloped countries so you appear to be doing something about the environment, but are actually consuming 3 times the normal amount of energy the average small town uses in a year. Al Gore uses more electricity in his house monthly than 10 average households anywhere in the country. He consumes more electricity heating his pool than you do for everything you consume electricity for in a full year. Look into this for yourself ... it's true. He's a world class hypocrite! The biggest mouth and proponent for going green is blacker than coal.
Personally, I think global warming is due to the size of the AIDS quilt they made a few years ago ... it makes everything so hot! I like things the way they are ... I'm not changing anything. In fact, I'm starting to waste more than I normally do just to help the polar ice caps to melt faster. The sooner they are gone, the sooner the ocean will rise and the shorter my drive will be to get to the beach! Leave the 'changes' to posers like that idiot Al!
How far are you willing to go to ruin our environment? Some sacrifices need to be made but not to the point that you suggest. Everyone can drive less and walk more, for example. How that will lead to a depression is beyond me. The Great Depression of 1929 had nothing to do with going green. Don't try to confuse the issue.
Your penetrating insight has convinced me that it is better not to do anything, that it is better not to care, and that in the end profitability is the only standard by which we should shape our relationship with the world.
You've done an inestimable service.
Hope you make lots of money. Have a great day!
If it's green and saves me money then I'm all for it. If it cost me money then I would have to say no thank you.
People don't need to go to extremes.
There are many many ways to help the environment. If people simply were thoughtful, and did the ones that fit their lives, we'd be a lot better off. The government could deal with the biggest issues by requiring better cars and power plants.
And, if you think that the cost of doing something about global warming is too much, it's insignificant compared to the costs of not doing something about it.
That would lead to a worldwide economic depression that would make the 1930s look like good times. Nations like China and India are coming to realize that.
We can get past this problem. The solution is very affordable and would not wreck our lives (as unreduced global warming would). Here's the plan:

Global warming is a scam to raise prices and increase tax. There is no great amount of green house gas that is a lie. CO2 is taken care of by plants as GOD intended it to be. The amount of green house gas is 1.1% . Oxygen and n itrogen is at there normal levels.
Let's see. My house is mostly underground- no a/c needed and never gets below 40'- a little cool, but nothing a wool sweater won't take care of. Burning all the junk mail and fallen branches warms the place up a bit. I have larger diameter copper wire than required by code; it saves me enough in power bills every seven months to pay for the extra it cost to buy. My truck gets many less miles on it than my bike. I grow most of my own food. Don't have any of those items you mentioned as being made from oil. Are any of those things made in USA? If we didn't buy them we might destroy China's economy, but ours wouldn't be bothered too much.
Yeah. Like you're going to get a lot of people on board.
