Because not a single INDEPENDANT respected scientist ever said there was any danger.
Every single "study," which tells you about the dangers of Global Warming is sponsered by polititians.
And do not point to websites. ANYBODY can post anything on a website. I can show you a bunch of websites claming they have PROOF that Elvis is alive and well.

The data used in climate models that supposedly justify the global warming b.s.) is invalid .. and has proven incapable of even modeling past trends.
Yet the real science can... and has shown using correct data that the global warming trend is yet another cycle and that we will in fact have a global cooling in 10-25 years.
So far i think all of the answers that have been said are stupid. If you arnt a scientist or you dont read any reports you dont know. Its comon sence anyways. We know that CO2 in our atmoshere is what helps keep the earth at a livable temperature, we know that we as humans burn fossil fuel dayly by the gallon and that there are over 6 BILLION people in the world emitting CO2 dayly. ITS STUPID TO THINK GLOBAL WARMING DOESNT EXIST! This is not some global warming or cooling, because during the cycles of global warming or cooling HUMANS WEREN'T PART OF THE EQUATION!! The media portrays so many different sides of global warming just cause it can, that who are we to believe if it exists or not. Take an answer from a girl whos talked to over 500 climatologists, (in 500 climatologists there was not even ONE who said that global warming didn't exist and that humans wern't causing it) GLOBAL WARMING EXISTS!
I believe global warming is a fabrication/myth because I believe the DATA presented in Michael Crichton's book "State Of Fear" are valid.
Why was this myth created? The scientists who support it have their own agenda, that is, grant-dollars for more meetings, more research, more publications.
The media love it; more talking heads have more drivel to talk about.
And the politicians jump at the chance to support it to drum up votes for election or reelection.
Thus you have the three elements, (1) researchers/scientists (2) communications media and (3) politicians, all of whom feed on each other and in turn feed the myth.
It's not nonsense, it's scientific fact that global warming is mostly caused by us. Here are facts from the peer reviewed scientific literature, not politicians, or for Pete's sake, science fiction writers.

I am not for sure, but Greenland supposedly was once green back in that medieval warming period.
Then, the world went through a stage of global cooling which lasted apparently up until 1850 A.D. Just read all of the accounts of the hard winters along the eastern U.S. whether it was at Jamestown, Virginia currently celebrating its 400th anniversary. Some 37 years before the English settled Jamestown, Virginia, the Spanish tried to settle about a mile away but the winters were too bad.
Then, the infamous winter of Valley Forge, PA circa 1777-1778.
I mean we send rovers and explorers to the moon in search of climate change. We send rovers to land and drive around Mars searching for climate change.

Mankind, all almost 7 billion of us, are part of Earth.
I feel that protecting the environment should be a top issue; however, so many underdeveloped countries are pumping so much pollution into the air, particularly China, and, to a lesser degree Russia. The world community talks about global warming, but the world community does not talk about the massive pollution going on in China, Russia, and scores of other underdeveloped countries.
Back in 1991, Saddam lit 500 Kuwaiti oil wells on fire that burned for months and months causing the single worst manmade environmental disaster in the history of the world. I never hear anyone talk about that as you can imagine that 500 large oil wells all burning at once created much pollution that covered all of Kuwait and much of the Middle East just because Saddam was being vengeful at the Kuwaiti people.
I feel that the world should be moving toward cleaner power; however, the politicians in the U.S. will not allow a new nuclear power plant or a new refinery built in the U.S. meanwhile Europe is building nuclear power plants for cleaner power. Meanwhile the U.S., the cleanest and safest oil producer in the world cannot drill wells on several hundred acres in Alaska of one of the largest known oil deposits in the world. Meanwhile, Mexico, Cuba, and China are drilling oil wells in the Gulf of Mexico, some just dozens of miles from the coast of Florida, but the U.S. cannot drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. I don't know if you would prefer that the cleaner and safer drilling and extracting technologies of the U.S. be used in the Gulf of Mexico which it cannot because the politicians will not let American companies do that while Mexico, Cuba, and China drill all over the Gulf of Mexico near the U.S. coast and most or all of those countries are known heavy polluters.
For the 2008 Summer Olympics in China coming up next year, much of China will have to be shut down for several weeks before the games begin and continue for several more weeks as the games continue. Or, in other words thousands of Chinese factories will be shut down for one whole month at a minimum to allow the athletes breathe air while hundreds of coal fired power plants will also be shut down in China in 2008 for at least one full month as the pollution is so bad in China.
The world community may talk about global warming, but the world community will not talk about the massive pollution in certain countries labelled as "underdeveloped".
It will be impossible to properly address any of these issues until those countries who have the worst pollution problems are addressed, but the world community will not say anything about China or Russia.
Why does China have to shut down entire sections of its economy and severely limit the operation of vehicles for at least a month to hold a Summer Olympics as this is unheard of in Olympics history.
My answer is yes there are many worldwide issues not being addressed, and I think that through the "free market" the best ways will be invented to come up with entirely new sources of energy, at least in the U.S.
This is an issue which is an emotional issue, an ideological issue which cannot be properly answered as temperatures have only been measured for a little over 150 years while much of the source of CO2 comes from nature.
However, all of mankind, all 7 billion people should be aware of the problems that we face with pollution. Don't just let China kind of "Cha Cha Slide".

I dont think it is nonsense that it happens caused both by cycles in the climate and by us messing it up.
I do think it's nonsense to worry about it and change our lifestyles just to try and prolong the inevitable.
This planet will die one day so why not enjoy it while we can
