Why are Chevy car hoses green ? ( the environment friendly ones )?

When I got them on my 1995 Chevy caprice they told me they last forever and are good for the environment.
Because I would never have to replace them as long as I own the car.
The dealer was right
The car was a 1995 Chevy caprice and I never had to change a hose. When I sold the car last week it had all the factory Green hoses in it and still working with over 165,000 miles on them.
Why does Chevy still not put earth friendly hoses in cars ?

Answer:
cause hoses typically are green
Hoses that last 165,000 miles are not uncommon. I mean come on, a hose is really a pretty simple thing, a rubber tube that transports coolant or oil or some other most likely non corrosive/erroding material. as far as the color? some marketing fool at chevy probably said, lets make the hoses green, to be different. and earth friendly hoses? please, we have bigger concerns with cars being earth friendly than hoses that relatively rarely need replacing.

because green is the color that has been assimilated with envioroment friendly...you know save the envioroment...trees, plants flowers
there are several different types of rubber being made. the environment acts as a corrosive or acid and some are more affected than others. I think that the fact that the hoses held up so long means that they are non biodegradable so how they are good for the environment I don't know. A million years from now museums all over the world will different lengths of green hoses as archaeological artifacts ;labeled as the Green era
