What are at least 2 things you are doing to help GLOBAL WARMING?

I am changing lightbulbs and planning on buying a hybrid car,I turn off lights a lot more,I do a lot of savings around my own home to help in the small way I can,if we all did at least 2,think how much it adds up!

Answer:
Changed all light bulbs to enery efficient
Recycle, reuse, reduce
Only run the dishwasher or washer when there's a full load
Take shorter showers
Walk or bike instead of drive, or carpool if you have to use a car
Planted three trees in the neighbourhood park
Wear jeans etc at least twice before washing
Turn off computers by power bar since they use energy even when turned off
The typical turning off of the TV and lights when not in use. Most people do not turn off their DVD/VCR/stereo when not in use. It's a simple click of a remote!
Did you know that Canada is the bigger waster of water per capita? Turn off the tap when brushing teeth or shaving, don't just let it run. Only water grass and flowers every other day, between the hours of 4-8pm when water consumption is at it's lowest.
Turn the air conditioner off, open some windows, or at least use the thermostat wisely, we don't need to be ice cubes!
Everyone can do something simple!
Planting more trees and cutting down less is a pledge all countries, and neighbourhoods should do if they are serious!
Think green!
I am trying to grow more plants in my house and not using much of electricity.
Turning lights off when I leave a room, and I don't leave things on stand by. Oh and I wash clothes at 30 degrees =p
Plugging out things when you're not using them saves a lot of energy.
Kickin back and sittin in dah dark :p
I drive a truck that runs E-85 ethanol... i have started changing out lightbulbs... i have about 8 in my house and have started putting them in my rental house... my family recycles all glass/paper/plas#1/aluminum/
steel/cardboard to reduce landfill emmisions
and we also compost veggie food waste and yard waste...
Everyone doing 2 small things won't even make a dent in man made co2. In order do anything substantial, we will have to shut down all coal and petroleum power plants and at least 50% of the cars on the road will have to be solar powered. And if only the United States does it, that wont be enough either. We need to face the facts as to what will really be required to reduce man made co2. In order to achieve the Kyoto goals, it will be very painful. It is not just a matter of changing light bulbs.
I don't know why it is any business of yours, but if you are trying to inspire ,or one up, people here's my best two:

1. I got rid of my car last year and bought a bicycle. Only when I NEED a car do I rent one, usually between once a week and once a month unless I'm planning a weekend trip out of town.

2. My shower and sink have water saver heads, my toilet is a dual flush (#1 & #2 flush) I don't wash dishes (or myself) under running water. My monthly water bill averages around $5. That does not account for my laundry but does cover everything from drinking/cooking water to washing water.
I Have already changed the bulbs, use less of AC, I use bicycle most of the time, use less of paper, plant trees and save water as much as I can.
And I would suggest people to use normal tap water for washing clothes, utensils, and bathing rather than using geyser (hot) water because that hurts environment much more. That is a very simple thing which I think everyone of us can do while hoping that other things like less use of automobiles and planting more trees is already being done.
In short we should be a little more sensible in using things and we will be fine believe me.
Looks like you are doing just the opposite of what you need to do, if you want to HELP Global Warming. Did you mean to help REDUCE Global Warming?

Global Warming is just another bunch of nonsense started by some politicians and tree huggers.
Please do not refer me to "studies" and links to websites.
ALL these "studies" were done by "scientists" sponsored by politicians. NO INDEPENDENT RESPECTED SCIENTIST EVER said there was a shred of danger. NOT ONE.
The planet goes through cycles all the time. Do you think the temperature never went up and down 300 years ago before industry, cars and so on?
OK, here's just one example: one volcano eruption brings out more junk than all cars combined. Volcanoes erupt all the time and what happens? The Earth recovers as it always has and always will.
And do not tell me that turning off lights in you bathroom will stop volcanoes from erupting.
I know I'll get a lot of thumbs down, but people like to believe in bad things and never listen to reason.
i'm turning off light and ect as much as possible and consurve gasoline
Umm nothing, why? cause it is fake
Tell farmers about sustainable farming ,water harvesting and organic pest control,
Talk to kids about Environmental awareness
I have made a lot of gardens
I answer in yahoo
I have planted thousands of trees by now
And i have worked for 30 years +
develloping eco tourism ,and selfsustainable human and animal environments.
And send this message a lot and

we can stop helping Global warming to become faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad

The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods

Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio
Have citizan meetings
Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,

If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,

We have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)
than your efforts are a waste of time.

That is what we do in Mexico

POSITIVE ACTIONS
Print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)

Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash

70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .
And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground

And it is the easiest to take care of
o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid

If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell
the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .

If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,

Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist

This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

If you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

Reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

The capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

The world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

The protection of existing forrests.

Stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

Education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

Education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´population

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

More environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

More dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

Alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

Recicling wastes,limit water use
Global Warming ... it's about as real as Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and Beelzebub. We increase CO∨2∨ in the atmosphere by BREATHING more than by 'leaving the lights on' or 'choosing a cleaner fuel/what-have-you.'

At the same time, it's also good not to waste energy like that because WE ARE NOT STUPID. So turning off the lights is good, as is the cleaner car (although I hate the DMV for being stupid).

I try to recycle all my shopping bags and--whenever possible--don't even use them (using instead my FunQA.coms Eco-Friendly BookBag).

And I quit using automotive transportation unless it's necessary for me to be CLEAN by the time I get somewhere.

That's right; I'm walking ... running, if I can ever train myself to do that again.
