Do you believe assisted climate change is occuring or not?
I remember it used to rain all the time in Melbourne Australia during winter but now we are in our worst drought in 100 years, some say 1000 years. Melbourne, Sydney, Perth are all rapidly building desalination plants. Food (especially vegetables and meat) is more expensive, although still not as expensive as Europe. Last week it finally rained in South East Victoria and before that it was Sydney and North of Sydney.but both caused massive flooding. Why is this happening?
Answer:
Here in Ohio, USA things are very much different climatically. I have been a gardener for over 30 years. Spring is coming almost two weeks earlier than it use to, and fall arrives much later.
Summers are hotter and drier. I use much more water to keep plants alive, and I must water many shrubs and trees that I never needed to before.
Winters are shorter and not as cold as in the past.
The region is getting warmer and drier. As to whether it's a natural occurrence or caused by man's activity, I simply don't know.
I do know this. If you roll a small rock down a large mountain, it will create a chain-reaction on the way down. By the time your small rock reaches the bottom, half the mountianside has joined it. Man's activity may very well have create the same type of chain reaction in nature.
not sure what you mean by "assisted" climate change.
there are so many reasons that it's difficult to list all the causes...like el nino and el nina, seeding the clouds, volcanoes, earthquakes, sun warming things up, lack of trees, coal emissions, normal planetary changes, etc. etc.
Your contribution is required to lift this feeling of depression, sure the climate has changed over the years, but the pattern is the same, the changes will never reach a end to our world. Be rest assured with positive input by yourself the grey cloud in front of your eyes (figure of speech) will lift and you will see the world in a much brighter way. Which it is
I am not so old but the trees in the US southwest are and their cores remember times of scorching heat and abiding drought lasting hundreds of years, nothing like the last hundred years of "relatively" wet years. But of course, the anomaly is ending and the rain is ceasing and western governors have no idea what do about it since the population boom of that area occurred during the unusually wet one hundred years.
be careful, believing is something for religious people
And Global Warming is not a question of belief.
it is something we know

I remember that the sky was a different color when I was growing up in the '50s. It was brite blue all the way to the horizon, not the grey sludge we see now !
When people hear the words global warming they wrongly think of not having to wear a sweater in the winter. The real result of warming will be widely fluctuating weather ! We're already seeing that here in the US ! Texas and Oklahoma ,and Kansas are getting flooded, but nearby Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia are in a record drought !
I consider all the land east of the Rockies a DEATH ZONE, because of the threat that unbelievably severe weather will develop there ! Drought is a big threat for places like LA, and Las Vegas ! Floods are already a big problem. All our food depends on favorable growing conditions ! We could face world wide food shortages sooner than thought possible !
Because we humans are Earth's cancer. We pollute, we destroy nature.
I can recall having extremely hot summers when I was younger that would cool off with a thunderstorm.
However, I think that the weather cycles in a pattern, just the pattern is getting more extreme with us excellerating the global warming cycle.
What do you think abotu these electrical thunderstorms that we get? Has anyone noticed that the lightening/thunder sounds even scarier? It kinda reminds me of the electrical storm in war of the worlds... I have never been close to lightening n my life until the recent years... 2x in one storm at work our building was hit, then 3ks later a tree in my back yard was hit. Man, I hate thunderstorms now!
