Can we save our planet by just one percent going green?
Answer:
Technically, no, but just 1% can inspire the rest of the 99% to change their ways. Its not a lost cause, if we do something fast enough. Leading by example is the key.
The only way this planet is going to be saved is if people stop having so many damn kids!!
It really depends on who is in that 1%. If it's a typical household which drives typical cars then going green won't have a dramatic effect. But if it's 1% of manufacturing companies then it could make a noticeable impact. It's kind of like the economy. If 1% of average households start saving more it won't have a drastic effect on the economy. But if the 1% includes people like Bill Gates, Ted Turner, etc. then it could have a very dramatic effect on the economy.
No. If the government is out of control and going in the wrong direction -- as it has been in this administration -- the 1% won't make much difference. But if the public supports local, state, and federal efforts to manage their resources and affect change worldwide, the planet will collectively breathe a sigh of relief. A planet under siege cannot provide for our long term needs.
We need to act upon the catch phrase from the movie "Network:"
"I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
'save the planet'? wow.
