Ethanol is a gimmick that will hurt poor people the most. Even if it ever takes off, it will be phased out by better technology.

People have been wrongly predicting the extent of our oil supplies ever since we discovered it. We have always been 30-50 years away from running out. I don't care who you are, the only thing you can say is that oil is ultimately finite. Thankfully our capitalist system is directly geared to the most efficient usage of a finite resource. I wish people would just shut the **** up already about oil running out, it is really not their concern.

Your other questions I would need to double check on, and I'm too lazy.
