Nuclear energy Australia?
Answer:
I have no idea where nuclear plants are proposed in Australia.
I'm still struggling with the question: Why on earth choose nuclear power in a land that is 80% empty, that has maximum sunshine for solar power and vast areas where the wind can blow free of obstructions for wind farms and a coastline of such length that wave and tidal power systems would be possible in their thousands without effect on the environment or tourism.
Is it the thought of barren central OZ as a super dumping ground for nuclear waste that drives the nuclear lobby? Watch out world, we'll all be glowing green if we don't stop the nuclear plague.
Not sure but this page may help check the news section or the links page.

there are quite a few proposed sites with the larger sites being around the Gold Coast/Brisbane area..
No state government in Australia wants them in there.
However it is a federal govt. decision.
They are mainly proposed to be dotted along the coastlines as they require large amounts of seawater for them to be cooled..
Nuclear Power Plants for Australia are wrong and should not be considered anymore. The waste is too risky to store or to transport. Take also the distances into account in Australia.
Human error can not be eliminated and consequences if something goes wrong are extremely more dangerous than that of any other conventional energy plant.
We need extra power supplies now and can not wait for the time it takes to have enough Australians trained and skilled for Nuclear Power Plants.
Getting workers in from overseas puts us in a very unreliable and vulnerable position.
With the now-a-days terrorist treats, top security becomes priority and makes it even more costly.
We have enough gas and coal (to make environmental friendly) for industries. For homes and businesses we can use solar and wind power.
In Australia we are so extremely lucky that we have the sea all around us and there are many sites where the tides can be used to generate power. In Victoria the entrance of Port Phillip Bay is one example.
