Come gather round people..?
So whats your take on Climate Change/Global Warming? Exagerrated or not? Al Gore a Prophet of Doom? Or just a Fear Monger? Whats your thoughts people?
Answer:
I think Al Gore needs to be publicly stoned. (and not "dude I'm stoned" stoned either...which might actually be funnier!)...I think him and his girlfriend Sheryl Crow need some serious psychiatric shock treatment!
She has this wonderful idea that if we all use only 1 square of toilet paper per bathroom visit then we will contribute to reducing the risk of global warming...but at the same time, raising the risk of droplet spread bacteria. Remind me not to stand behind her in line or shake her hand! They then have buses and tractor trailers hauling all of the "much needed" equipment and boarding personal jets loaded with who knows how many gallons of fuel to fly themselves around the world a few times to add another buck to their already swollen pockets. THEN have the audacity to ask me to reduce emissions! I pay every last red cent that I can possibly save to make sure that my vehicle is "road worthy" according to The Boss's standards while they drive around in whatever new flashy thing came out this year.
Forgive me for not thinking that the 1 degree increase in the earths average temperature over the course of the last century is relevant. I'm more in tuned to stopping teenage pregnancy, catching rapists, getting drug dealers out of our schools, bringing our troops home, stopping abortion, etc etc...I don't think there will ever be a cure for AIDS or any cancers.the government makes too much money on people that get things like that. (weren't there brief cases stolen from a scientist that had a possible cure? he was shot?? back in the early 90s or something like that?) I've just given up hope that there will be anything of the sort in my life. So, all in all, I think the Global Warming freaks are just trying to get our skirts in ruffle and our panties in a bind. Just think how much money we are going to spend on all the new products they come up with that "promise" to reduce greenhouse gases and global warming blah blah.lol...just like Y2K.only Y2K had to end when it turned 2000 and nothing happened...yeah, now here's something the extremists can throw out there that doesn't have an expiration date...and us poor uneducated "non-scientific" and naive consumers will believe anything the "experts" shove down our throats.
another Fear monger
Aww I love Bob Dylan and that songs amazing.
Spoken about a lot but not much action is being taken against it! Everyone needs to reduce their carbon footprint or we are DOOMED!
read my question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
Global warming is fact, whether or not we can influence it one way or the other may be fiction, but i think we should try, just in case we can make a difference.
i think global warming would have happened eventually anyways. but us humans are speeding it up. we all need to stop and think hey i need to do something about this. if every person just took one sheet of paper and sent it be recycled, that would thousands of trees right there. our generation is the generation that needs to step up and do something and set the example for the future generations. otherwise in a few hundred years there may be no more civilization left, just like the dinosaurs, man-kind would go extinct. and al gore is well a hypocritical *** hole to me. just my thoughts.
Burying one's head in sand is stupid, playing safe isn't, besides all that is entailed in reducing "global warming" would have a good efect on society. folks would rely on eachother rather than machines.
He is a fear mongerer, but I do believe in global warming, and we need to stop it. People who won't admit there is global warming just won't look at the facts, or make stories up.
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.
This is science and what counts is the data.
"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”
Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command
Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

It's (mostly) not the sun:
http://solar-center.stanford.edu/sun-on-...
And the first graph aboves shows that the sun is responsible for about 10% of it. When someone says it's the sun they're saying that thousands of climatologists are stupid and don't look at the solar data. That's ridiculous.
Science is quite good about exposing bad science or hoaxes:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/atg/polywater...
There's a large number of people who agree that it is real and mostly caused by us, who are not liberals, environmentalists, stupid, or conceivably part of a "conspiracy". Just three examples of many:
"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."
Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart
"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."
Senator John McCain, Republican, Arizona
“DuPont believes that action is warranted, not further debate."
Charles O. Holliday, Jr., CEO, DuPont
There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on FunQA.com:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/scientific_...
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu... and:
"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point. You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."
Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

"climate science from climate scientists"
I think that peak oil is the real issue.
There is no such thing a man made global warming.
People the earths climate has never been stable, why are we so concerned with it now.
give me a break.
Well you'd better start swimming before you sink like a stone!
Have you read Al Gore's book - An Inconvinent Truth? It is like a picture book aimed at the under 12's.
Not exactly groundbreaking stuff was it?
But whether it is becuase of our actions or the cycle of the earth, we need to adjust our attitudes and ways.
